{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{Enjoying The Little Things In Life}

 I hope that you all are enjoying your Sunday afternoon. Our family has left to go home after our Sunday dinner so now I am sitting down to enjoy a cup of hot black  tea with honey. I should be sitting outside on the porch drinking my tea but it's a tad chilly today. Us Floridians just aren't sure how to dress these days for our weather.
On Saint Patrick's day I decided to brew myself a cup of green tea and since I was having a very heathy tea I decided to have a shortbread cookie dipped in chocolate. LOL! I actually stumbled across the small box of shortbread cookies in my pantry that apparently I had tucked in the far back corner behind some boxes of dry items. These cookies had been gifted to me in a gift basket in February. I suddenly remembered that I had hid them in the pantry so the grands wouldn't eat them. However, I hid them from myself too! LOL!
Do you like green tea? I have several friends that don't but I love mixing them with other teas or just having a regular cup of green tea. So many health benefits in green tea.         (NOT THE COOKIES)

Marty and I had a day date one day last week. Since he has not retired yet it's not often we enjoy a day date through the week. It's always nice though. We had a great meal at Kaika Teppanyaki Asian Fusion. This cute place had such a relaxed type atmosphere and the food was great. One thing about going places through the week and early in the day is most likely the wait time is short and the crowds shorter. Which both are something we have grown fond of.
Of course it's a must to shop at Home Depot or Lowe's! I shared with you in my last post that we were cleaning and revamping some on my front porch so new ceiling fans was in store. ALSO, thanks for the sweet comments on my front porch. Of course we needed several things and I can always find something I want in Home Depot.

Look at this beauty!
I will be transplanting this next week. She's actually in need of some love as the weather has just been so crazy here. I've transplanted several pieces and given as gifts. I have other pots of this growing too that are just beautiful. One small piece was gifted to me some years ago and it seems to be the gift that keeps on giving. I am going to be making more new pots hopefully next week.

I sure hope that you have a great new week and enjoy being in the present. Enjoy being where you are right now. One thing I am learning the older that I become is LESS can be MORE.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. I enjoyed this post and the cup of black tea with you. I just finished some decaf tea a few minutes ago...couldn't decide on which herbal tea I wanted so just had some regular decaf Lipton tea because it is late in the evening and I don't want to stay awake, but I was cold and needed something hot to drink. Yes, it WAS a chilly day today! My goodness! What happened to that spring/summer weather we were having? LOL. I love that you and your sweet hubby had day date this past week. Sounds like you had a great time. And yes, it's time to start our gardening projects. I need to do so much in our yard, but my arms/shoulders/back are keeping me from doing very much, and my former landscaping son has moved away and doing a different kind of job, so I can't rely on him to do my dirty yard work anymore. My hubby has never been much for yardwork beyond the usual lawn mowing and raking leaves. So we shall see what develops as far as any kind of gardening goes this year. Anyway, I enjoyed your post. Felt like we sat down and visited. That was lovely. Have a wonderful week.

  2. I'm not a fan of green tea but I know many are fond of it. I've heard that it's health promoting. Personally I think cookies must be too. *smile* Your succulent plant sure is thriving. Happy Spring!! GM

  3. Hi Cindy, so nice that you and your hubby had a nice date and meal. We love Asian food too, though I can't eat hot-spicy food. I agree about eating in the day. Less crowded and better prices too! We grow a lot of succulents. I need to get some containers to make some planters for gift for Mother's Day. I used to drink a lot of teas but have to go with caffeine free. I would have hidden those cookies too! That verse be still has been on my mind a lot. I have been spending more time listening to music and not watching tv. I love to be around people, but I do need my quiet time with the Lord. Enjoy your week!

  6. Good morning, Cindy. Your posts are always uplifting and encouraging. I sometimes hide goodies and forget that I have them. It is so much fun to discover them. Have a wonderful Tuesday!

  7. What a wonderful lesson you’ve shared from your devotional, Cindy! I’m going to re-read that and take that to heart. That’s so funny about you hiding the cookies so well, but at least you found them! You certainly have a green thumb for succulents, I must say! If I lived close by, I’d be requesting one. Thank you for your lovely post and Happy first week of Spring. 🌷🌷🌷

  8. I'm not a big fan of tea, Cindy, but you do make the beverage look so inviting. Yes, being retired affords us the luxury of eating out/shopping during the week on a regular basis. The lines are nonexistent for the most part. Loved the devotion reflections you shared, too. God is the only One in charge, and we need to give all our cares to Him.
    Blessings!

  10. This is amazing, Cindy. Our giveaways on our wedding are succulents. :) I'm also a tea lover. In fact I have one beside me right now. Random dates with the spouse is the best! Stay warm and safe!

  12. Green tea is, indeed, so healthy, along with a lot of other green produce. I don't drink as much of it as I used to, but I always have it on hand. Yes, our Florida weather has been back and forth of late. We check the outdoor temperature before deciding what time of day to ride our bicycles. Blessings to you!

  13. Hey Cindy!
    Your devotional was so encouraging.. lean into grace and live fully where I am today. (And don't listen to lies.) Thank you!
    I just opened a box of cookies I "found" in my pantry! And they're still good! :))
    Your succulents are beautiful! Isn't it neat how they make "babies" to transplant?

  14. I'm not much of a tea drinker, except for sweet iced tea, that I love. Tea comes in so many flavors now, I should really step out there and give them a try. Oh I forgot, I do love peach flavored iced tea, yummy!!

  15. I do like green tea and mix it in when I'm making iced tea too (order at Starbucks that way too --half green/half passion). Those cookies sounded delish! We like going out for a late lunch/early dinner for the same reason. Less crowds and waiting. Your succulents are gorgeous. I hope you're off to a great weekend!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
