{Hello friends}

  Hoping this finds my sister bloggers doing well on this windy Sunday afternoon. Yep, we've got a little wind howling around here and a tad cool but I am enjoying a lazy afternoon. My Sunday lunch crowd (my family) have left for the day so I am kicked back. Sunday menu today consisted of: Chicken and dressing Giblet gravy Italian green beans with ham Mac & Cheese Homemade chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and chocolate ganache.  Yep, they are little spoiled at Nana's house. I am not a huge fan of cakes with icing but it must have been good as one of the grands had two slices.  These gals and I have been friends for more years than I remember and since we've all retired within a few months apart in retirement and age (dating back to 4th grade in school) we try to get together once every 4-6 weeks. We always do something extra for our birthdays but was a tad late celebrating mine this year together due to other appointments that was a must. We always have a gr...

{Sharing My Life}

I've been enjoying drinking coffee from my new mug that was gifted to me for my birthday which was February 18th.

Every single treatment for cancer that I was given I would pray this scripture, quote this scripture and sometimes I put it in the form of a song. This verse ministered to me so many times and still does so needless to say this is my now new favorite coffee mug.

Speaking of birthdays, I was so very thankful to be able to celebrate another birthday with my family. My daughters carried me out to dinner and lavished me with lots of loves, sweet gifts and great food.

We sure have a great time together.

One of my nieces shares her birthday on the same date as me so she treated me to lunch. We have a very close relationship and she's just as lovely on the inside as she is on the outside.

My favorite dessert, strawberry cheese cake

We also celebrated my sweet FIL for his 90th birthday.

Yesterday I had the privilege to go see Peter Pan with my youngest daughter and two youngest granddaughters. Part of the little one's Christmas from Nana and Papa was to see this production. I think I am always more amazed than they are at these productions. We had so much fun.

I've named that picture "The women in black"
Yes, we were attending a funeral but it's always good to see friends from long ago no matter when you are.

I received two gifts in the mail from sister bloggers. The tea was oh so good! I am going to purchase me some of this brand. The book marker was just lovely and made me smile so big. What a pleasure and a gift it is to be able to pray for others.

As I close today I will leave you with a little "Food for thought". I hope that you all have a wonderful week ahead of you.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  5. Happy Belated Birthday! I think I missed it on Facebook. I am so thankful that God has given you another birthday to celebrate! I know this past year was difficult, but God has truly blessed you and you are such an inspiration to so many of us! What a blessing to be able to go out with your girls and then also to celebrate with your sweet FIL for his 90th birthday. And seeing old friends, even if at a funeral, is still good. We need to stay in touch with our old friends as well as our new ones. The Peter Pan program looks like it was a fun time for all. Thank you for sharing your life with us. You are a blessing to us all.

  6. I just love it how the Lord holds us up with a special verse. It's like a marker that carries us like no other. I got Jer 29:11 when Tom died and I see it every day like a surprise from God. Very cute bookmark gift, too! Hugs to you, warrior friend.

    1. I always have loved how God gives us a verse that sustains us through a journey and yet everything we see it or hear it we are drawn back to thankfulness.

  7. What an interesting observation about fear and faith. I have not thought of it like that before, but it is definitely true!

    All of your birthday celebrations look so fun and cheerful!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...

{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
