{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

Wednesday In The Word

Psalm 34:14 "Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it."  Picture taken by my youngest daughter from a recent trip.  My Bible study this week is about PEACE in my Wednesday night class and also for the online class that I lead. When we think about peace there are so many terms in which to think upon. It can be difficult to think about peace when we live in a world that offers no hope of peace. Praise the Lord that we serve a God that He knows the outcome of this world!  It can difficult to think about peace when we are watching a loved one suffer, people loosing their jobs, marriages on the brink and children going astray.  Peace on any level can be hard to comprehend at times can't it?  But what about those words of "Seek Peace and Pursue It?      I am a peace maker at heart. I don't like drama, chaos, or conflict. I have a motto that my family has heard many, many times...: My House Is A House of Peace".  ...

TUESDAY TOOTS

Oh the sweetness of your oldest granddaughter wanting to learn how to sew!  My oldest granddaughter is 8 years old. Loves to do crafts, create and design. Needless to say we gave her her own little sewing machine with all the trimmings for her 8th birthday which was in April. Her mom, my oldest daughter has said that she wants to sew everything!!! She wanted to make a bib...she cut it out by herself and began! You know the problem we have as parents and grandparents is wanting to do it for them. However, I decided that she would do this...mistakes and all! How else will we learn? Of course she seemed to have WAYYYYY more patience than I ever thought about having~ Her finished product wasn't half bad for an 8 year old.  She was so proud of herself and so was I! Then she got real brave and decided that she wanted to embellish a tee shirt. Have I mentioned patience?  I am so proud of her I could just SPIT! Thank you for tooten w...

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORD-HAPPY JULY 4TH

"Give me liberty or give me death!"    Patrick Henry evidently placed a high value on freedom. Often, it is for "freedom" that soldiers fight on the battlefield, sometimes to take it away from others or to protect it, or to restore it to those who have lost it. In the United States, we generally think of such freedoms as the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press and freedom of assembly. But there is more to freedom than simply civil laws protecting such. There are some freedoms that civil law cannot give and armies cannot secure. We have to look elsewhere for certain freedoms, and they are extremely important ones. Freedom from sin, freedom from sin's eternal consequences, freedom from hopelessness and despair, and ultimately, freedom from death. Liberty In Christ "Jesus was therefore saying to those Jews who had believed Him, 'If you abide in my word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know...
