Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
Oh I love a giveaway! Since Easter is almost here I wanted to do a giveaway that would be great for moms & kids to do together or Nana's and grands! I found this great Wilton Mini Bunny pan. Holds 6 bunny cakes. Bake em', decorate em', and then eat em'.
Random.org number generator will pick the winner. All you need to do is comment on THIS post what are your FAMILY traditions for Easter Sunday. That's it! Deadline will be Friday, March 26th @ noon. I'll begin with sharing our Family tradition for Easter.
Our Easter Sunday begins with a wonderful church service. Of course all of our services are good I know but Easter Sunday will is extra special to my heart. Though we know that Jesus died on a Roman Cross for our sin, was buried and rose from the grave three days later and then accended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God, we still cherish the Easter Sunday Holiday as a sweet reminder. After Church we have the traditional Easter Sunday Dinner which consists of Ham, Potato Salad, Green Beans, Rolls, Tea and dessert. Later in the afternoon we all gather at my motherinlove's home for a big family afternoon of hunting eggs and drinking lemonade. EVERYONE participates in the egg hunt. Some hide and some hunt...young and old! Then we eat boiled eggs and drink lemonade and just enjoy the afternoon. It is so much fun to watch our little ones hunting easter eggs. And...it seems that each year our family is adding on! Easter Sunday is really special to me! I was baptized on an Easter Sunday 39 years ago!
Our Easter Sunday starts with a fun easter egg hunt in the yard followed by blueberry french toast, bacon & eggs.
ReplyDeleteWe then have the kids search for their baskets and then head off to church & have a nice family dinner afterwards with the grandparents.
We will start our Easter Sunday with Church. One of my favorite things in the last few years is the children "flowering" the cross, this is a special time of our service. The end result is always so beautiful. After church, we will go to my Mom and Dad's for Sunday Lunch. My Dad does the cooking and it is always so delicious. Then we'll all visit and enjoy the afternoon together hunting eggs and watching the kids play.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute GIVEAWAY...please count me in! We get up and go to church...best part of the day...then we go over to my mom's house for lunch with my family...if we have little one's then we have a egg hunt...that's my EASTER! I will post about your GIVEAWAY:)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Our family always of course go the church and enjoy the grace of God. We then meet at my sister's house for a family meal and Easter Egg hunt later that afternoon. It is always a joy to see the little faces when they find an egg. Just simply heart warming.

ReplyDeleteBunny pan is adorable. Never saw one of those kind before. I like the freshness that Easter seems to bring with it. It's like new beginnings for everyone...Our family goes to church, then we have dinner at my Grandmothers house. After dinner everyone eats colored boiled eggs that my grandmother has done and everyone has a special egg with thier name on it as well. We end our evening with lemon pound cake, tea and coffee. We spend the afternoon with family eating the traditional dinner consisting of ham, baked mac and cheese, collard greens, potato salad and desserts. We generally do our Easter Egg hunt the day before. Never thought about doing it the day of until reading your other entries...maybe I should start a new tradition! Thanks

Hi Cindy. Thank you for stopping by and visiting me over at Cotton Pickin Cute. What a wonderful husband to get up and cook you breakfast every Sunday morning. And it's so nice to hear about someone having a long marriage of 32 years!!! You're Sundays sound wonderful. And Easter is that much more special.
ReplyDeleteI have lovely childhood memories of Easters with my family. Shopping for those special Easter outfits, including hat, shoes and purse, sometimes even gloves. Then waking up to see what the Easter bunny brought, going to Easter services when everyone was dressed so special and the scent of flowers feels the air. Afterward having family come over for a big Ham dinner and Easter egg hunt. Oh what wonderful memories.
Thanks for hosting a giveaway. Love the pan and would love to win. I'm also your newest follower.
Hugs...Tracy :)
Every Easter our family goes camping with a church group. I know it isn't the "traditional" Easter, but it is fabulous! We have our church service next to the lake when the sun is coming up. The kids build 3 crosses and put them up on Good Friday. It is an amazing experience.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun giveway and idea! How wonderful that your were baptized on Easter Sunday.:)
Hi Cindy, what a beautiful blog you have! We also start our Easter Sunday with going to church but, after the kids gather their Easter Bunny eggs. I am in charge of this special holiday and we too have ham, potato salad and all the yummy things that go with it. My mom bakes 2 Easter Lamb cakes. (I insist on a a chocolate one!!)Then, the little kids hide eggs for all the adults to find! It's a lot of fun and a great day! Thanks for your kind words Cindy! Donna
ReplyDeleteI wanted to get my name in for the drawing. My mom and sister have already told our Easter traditions. They are both right....the church service is always wonderful(the flowering of the cross is awesome), Mom's dinner is great, and Nanny Conner's is so much fun. I feel truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful family. I love the fact that my babies will have some of the same traditions growing up as I did.
ReplyDeleteKristy :-)
Cute Easter bunny pan. Our family begins our Easter Sunday with a family tradition of Sauage w/ Milk Gravy and biscuits. We go to church and have a great time. Then we enjoy our traditional Easter dinner of Baked Ham, Collard greens, Pot. salad, cornbread, cool whip salad and always, always, a chocolate cake w/chocolate icing! Everyone takes a short nap and then we're off to hunt Easter eggs in the yard. A fun and relaxing day. Casey
ReplyDeleteAt our church we have an Easter Sunrise service. So we do that first and then we go out to breakfast and back to church for the morning service. We come home and have NO, not baked ham, but homemade chicken and dumplings made by my grandmother! We enjoy all sorts of food and desserts and later in the afternoon we end our day with an old fashion Egg hunt with ONE PRIZE egg. Only the children hunt. The price egg has always been a $10 bill! We have such fun! Would love to win the pan for my grandmother. Happy Easter Miss Cindy....In Christ, Abigal
