I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month. Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now! Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said! I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style. The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters. Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo
I am glad to join Traci at http://www.beneathmyheart.blogspot.com with Best DIY Projects of March. I cannot believe the talent on here. But wanted to share my little $3 project. I call it my musical notes creations.
I bought these 3 pieces (soap holder, lotion dispenser, and toothbrush holder) from the Dollar Tree.
The stickers on the bottoms was really hard to get off. So...took my "must keep in the house" Goo-Gone product and in a second...no lie, a second, those little mean labels came right off.
Made copies of songs, musical notes and scripture out of an Hymnal. Then I cut them up...anyway I could to make it easy.
The Modpodge treatment began! I done 2 coats letting each coat dry before applying the next coat. When the pieces were dry I took outside and sprayed a coat of Acrylic Sealer and let them dry.
I had the ribbon and rossettes already so decided to add a pretty finishing touch. I thought the outcome was really cute and very cheap! Decided this little set with lotion, paper clips, pens and pencils needed to go on my friends desk at work. My friend Vicky has such a beautiful voice and can sing her some gospel music that I couldn't look at the wonderful words of some old time hymns and not think of her.

ReplyDeleteP.S. I know that would be hard for a die-hard Georgia fan to do. Hee-hee
That is the most adorable idea Mrs. Cindy. Ashley J
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely amazing! What an incredibly thoughtful gift for your singing friend! They came out looking wonderful & I never would have thought of it. Now I'll have to keep my eyes open.
ReplyDeleteA long time ago, I fussy-cut out a flower from my bathroom wallpaper & glued it onto a plain white soap dispenser. I thought I was brilliant but this beats it, hands down!
Hey Cindy. I love your desktop items you made. I love to see what can be done with items meant for another purpose. And I love goo gone but never seen the spray. I think I'd like that even better.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to say thank you for coming by this morning. You're loving and caring comments meant so much to me. What you said about praying for the care giver reminds me of what I always feel after someone passes. It's those left behind that are suffering now. Thank you for caring about Neil & I. It is getting very difficult. I just hope her life isn't as sad and unhappy as I worry that it is.
I'm your newest fan and follower.
Hugs and happy blessings to you...Tracy :)
