Happy May! I wanted to pop in and share a few pictures from my month of April which seemed to fly by quickly. As I am trying to catch up with my blogging friends today I realized it had been a month since I last posted. My mercy! But, I am so busy doing this thing we call life here on earth and enjoying every moment that I can. With my immediate family of 14 there is never a dull moment y'all! We had three family birthdays in April. My SIL David, granddaughter Adalynn and oldest granddaughter Raygen. Our favorite grandson Conner (only grandson) carried his girl to the prom. We had to snap at least one picture with Mom and Nana! Two of my elementary school friends and I get together at least once every 4-5 weeks so we went to breakfast and then to Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens. We always have so much fun. The gardens are so beautiful that I couldn't even attempt to snap all the pictures I wanted. There are so many beautiful paintings to look at this but this was one of
Some of you know from my Foto Friday that my oldest granddaughter was celebrating her 6th birthday. Can see her pictures of her first manicure and pedicure here http://creationsbycindyphotography.blogspot.com/2010/04/foto-friday_16.html
Well I just had to do a little something more you know for my oldest granddaughter. Decided to play around with a needle and thread! That could be scarey at times! Ha! Bought just a plain white top and a black skort. Found a pair of black flip flops too. Wanted to embellish it a tad though so it would look more girly. I had this cute black and white ribbon and some white/yellow flower buttons and thought, "Now why I can't I use this to add some embellishments and doll this little outfit up. Made these little rossets or thingy's or whatever it is you may want to call it!
So started out with the white top.
I like the way it looked and proceeded to the skort.
I really thought the added piece just really gave the plain black skort some pop.

Then the flip flops was next!
I really like the way they turned out. I had bought a white and a black headband so decided to touch them up as well.
Then I just sorta went crazy ya'll. I thought ooh, I got more ribbon and buttons to do somthing with. Made her a little tie braclet.
Then of course she just had to have a purse to finish off the outfit....
And there it all was! Just turned out cute as a button and needless to say she was tickled with it!
A seamtress NO............But a NANA THAT LOVES DOING THINGS LIKE THIS FOR THE GRANDS.....YES!
So adorable!! Good job!
ReplyDeleteWow, you were on a roll! And it all turned out so lovely! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThe whole matching outfit looks so cute. I am sure your granddaughter loves it!....Christine

Hi Cindy, that is adorable what you did with the ribbon, what a great outfit your granddaughter has now. I have a 9yr old daughter but she is not girly at all:( which is a shame cos I totally am. Her friend (also 9) who lives two doors away went for a pedi and mani with her Mom last weekend, when I mentioned to Kristen that we could do something like that she just scrunched up her face!! She did let me paint her finger nails instead though ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a fun day. and thanks for your lovely comment.
Hugs Denise
You truly are creative!!! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such sweet comments. I'm following you, too!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Love this!! I just saw your comment about the cd. Funny, but we are working on one as we speak! I have lots of recordings I was featured on that are Air Force Band CDs, but my first solo one will be coming by the end of summer and will be all contemporary Christian/worship music. I will definitely let you know. It will be on itunes for download. Right now the only thing I have on itunes is "Battle Hymn of the Republic" on the album "Our Citizen Airmen" which is an old recording I did with Christ Church Choir in Nashville. You have to search itunes for "Our Citizen Airmen" because it doesn't come up when I search the song. Thanks for asking! I will keep you updated!
ReplyDeleteyou did a marvelous job, by the way!
