{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

July 4th Tablescape

Loving my July 4th tablescape...Who says you can't mix melamine, glass and plastic together????

Red plates: Melamine plates found at Walmart for $1.00 each. White glass salad plates I've had for years...a Thrift store find. Silver ware: plastic! (Walmart)Patriotic bows was 2 to a pack for $1.00 from Dollar Tree.



Oh I love how this winded up looking! Compote' turned upside down holding a butter dish! Just perfect to hold my little patriotic bird house don't ya think? And you know I had to use a book of some kind to decorate with! Good ole' cookbooks!


Apples and July 4th just go together to me!

I love how my centerpiece turned out! I've had the enamel tea pot for a long time and use it a lot to decorate with. Once again old blue came to my rescue when looking for just the right thing to host my centerpiece.



Heart stick came from Family Dollar for $1.00 and bought a pack of flags from there for $1.00


Several years back I found this piece of material after July 4th marked down to 50 cents a yard. I didn't buy much because at the time I figured I wouldn't use it! Well, I winded up with just enough to do two chair covers with which was all I really needed!



And yes, I LOVE the USA!


Found the blue place mats at the Dollar Tree and you guessed it...for $1.00 each! I've had the coasters for several years now but I think they also came from Dollar tree...like 6 in a pack maybe.


Napkins...paper...and yes, I have lots of them!

    Wow! Cindy you have me singing Yankee Doodle! Terrific tablescape and you've given me some great ideas for a try at this on my own. Actually, as much as I'd love to do these tablescapes I just don't have the space for all the this and thats necessary for a lush design. And - I love a good lush table design with plenty of eye candy!!

    Hi Cindy, what a spectacular patriotic table!! I think it is very appropriate and practical to use plastic tableware for the 4th meals whether inside or out. They look so much like the real thing now that it is a surprise to learn they are not. I love every detail of the table. Shannon

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... {March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians?
