{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Wednesday In The Word-Not a Fan

I am currently co-leading a Bible Study called "Not a Fan" by Kyle Idleman. To me it is a very intense study of the heart. 

After speaking at a conference Pastor Kyle said a gentleman walked up to him and said, "We raised our daughter in church but not in Christ".

    He was brave to make that statement. It sounds as if he was more focused on checklist living instead of heart-led living.

    That statement makes me think that he was talking of going to church as a cultural activity that had nothing to do with a relationship with Christ. It can be an activity we do once a week that has no live changing effect on our lives

    I've heard it said that a lot of those who attend church won't be in heaven. It's one thing to be a church-goer...it's another to ask Christ into your heart and then want to attend church to be in fellowship with other CHRISTians and hear God's work being taught and spoke from the pulpit. Some think that going to church makes them a CHRISTian!!! HOPE this makes sense....bottom line...we need CHRIST in our hearts ALL THE TIME!!!

    I've read the book Miss Cindy and I can tell you the book has changed my way of serving Christ. And yes...it is very easy to get caught up in "being raised in church" but not in Christ. There is a profound difference! I wish everyone would take the time to read Not a Fan! Thanks for sharing this post.

    millions of words spoken by folks in homes and pulpits,, books written, seminars attended, conferences called into session, money time and effort spent on spiritual journeys~~ and still folks don't seem to ever get, what has forever been offered for free~ ,,"Love One Another"

    Ooo good question. To me it means they took her to church on Sunday, but didn't bring the teachings to their home. Christ needs to be the center of our lives and our homes, not just a Sunday thing. It means family and personal prayer, scripture study as a family. Initiating conversations about Christ and living as HE has taught.

    I think many people go to church just out of habit because that is what they have done for years. Some people use the church as a social meeting place. It seems that is how the man was using church without really understanding true worship.

    To me it means that being a Christian is not a self-improvement project, it's a relationship with the God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. It doesn't much matter if you go to church and don't have that. This book sounds interesting. I'll have to check into it more.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... {March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians?
