{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORD-REASON FOR SEASON

As the Christmas season approaches I have found myself getting in that frame of mind of being "overwhelmed" with my list of things to do! How about you? Of course I am one of those species that worries about not getting a full nights sleep too! You know...you worry about not sleeping so therefore you are already anticipating that you won't sleep! Yeah, I know...crazy huh? I found myself in this same frame of mind yesterday except it was with my calendar! The more I looked at the dates circled for events, shopping, parties, meetings and etc. the more I found myself becoming overwhelmed! I kept thinking, "What can I give up? I've got to attend this event and go to that party or parties....I've got to do this and that and well I finally just closed the calendar and began to pray and ask God to speak to my heart.

 After I had prayed I decided to google some poems for Christmas so I could share it with some of our ladies at church. Boy or boy does God have a way of speaking to us....right when we need it! I would like to share it with you today.

Christmas is a special time
To reflect on Jesus Christ,
The wonder of His lowly birth
Brings meaning to our lives
There really is no other reason,
We celebrate this day,
The birth of God's precious Son
And the life, He willingly gave
 But so much seems to distract us
In the busy-ness of our lives,
We lose our focus in all the happenings,
Not knowing, we leave our Christ
We lose sight of the true meaning
As we endlessly rush about
Trying to find that perfect gift,
Seems to cloud our Savior out
We need to stop and reflect awhile
Remembering our precious Lord,
His birth, His life and sacrifice
And all that He stands for
For though the world may celebrate,
It seems though for other reasons,
Let's keep in mind that Jesus Christ
Is the true meaning of the season.

  8. When I get overwhelmed...and I do from time to time...I know that I need to disentangle from what the world is telling me about Christmas. I purposely slow down and take time for a cup of tea, a bit of reading, listening to some Christmas carols with my feet up, praying. It helps to ground me again. And sleep has been coming much easier since I started reading at bed time again. By six paragraphs, I'm out like the proverbial light. ☺

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
