I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month. Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now! Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said! I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style. The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters. Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo
I have been re-reading "Just enough LIGHT for the Step I'm on" by Stormie Omartin. I was given this book in 2000 and have underlined, highlighted and even made notes on some of the pages. As I began reading it again I was inspired at how God has carried me through some times in my life that seemed to be dark.
I can remember so vividly a time in my life that I truly wondered if the sun would ever shine again. Oh did the SON ever shine but there was days I couldn't see it because I wasn't looking! We get so caught up in being distraught, angry, sad, and even depressed that we forget that what we going through or dealing with has a much larger picture than we see.God sees the big picture but all we see is the little picture.
Sometimes we just have to find a different way to view out situation! I realized that when I was able to see things from God's perspective I was able to find the light even in the midst of darkness.
One of the things that Stormie said in her book and I had made a note beside her quotation that simply said AMEN was this. "God is in the middle of doing something great for us and, because we are not as comfortable as we'd like to be, we don't recognize the good things He has put in our lap".
This has proven to be true over and over again in my life! May we try to look through the lens of God's eyes so we can see the light.

ReplyDeleteI have to admit the light here is dim..
my anxiety attacks and this depression have had so strong a hold on me I had to see mental and physical health doctors..
please Cindy, if you have a prayer list, put me on it. This dark tunnel is a scary place and I want so much to be back in the light.
I just finished up my devotional....I think (prayers, please) and it was based on the last few years of struggles. When we come out on the other end, we see how God held us the entire time!!! Thanks for a confirmation and affirmation!!!
ReplyDeleteOh I needed this today. Have been battling with just the ups and downs of daily life and trying to pray through each day. It is not that things are BAD per say...There is always the light at the end of the tunnel. However, sometimes, even through prayer, spending time in His Word, I still have a hard time seeing the light. God does always bring me through and that is what I count on. Just being honest. ReplyDeleteTrue words, my Friend. When we're uncomfortable, our focus shifts like a laser to making ourselves comfortable again. But in that laser focus, we miss seeing (and experiencing) the blessings God continues to pour over us. Thanks for this wonderful word today!
ReplyDeleteIt has been such a long time since I visited you (or anyone for that matter. But I am so glad I stopped by today. I will add that book to my must reads. Sounds like something I need right now. I have missed your oh so inspirational words. Thanks for sharing.
