{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

Wednesday In The Word-Taste and See

O Taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the one that takes refuge in Him. Psalm 34:8

I couldn't help but think about this scripture as I was putting up Red Pickle rings from the cucumbers we had managed to grow in our little garden. And I say MANAGED because the rain we have consumed basically drowned our little garden out this season with exception of a few tomatoes and squash. BUT cucumbers was plentiful for us this season so PICKLES was made!

As a girl growing up we canned and froze everything and had acres upon acres of veggies and I loathed that time of the year! I knew it meant work and lots of it. Gardening as an adult has been a joy because #1 I don't have to do it...I just like to do it! There is a difference between have too and want too isn't there? But it is still lots of work.....

  I know that The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it according to Genesis 2:15 and here I was (WOMAN) standing there at that kitchen counter peeling and peeling and peeling for just a few pickles!  I kept thinking; the WORD said God took the MAN!!!! But He also says "The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." Genesis 2:18

So HELPER I was to my man! He tilted, fertilized and groomed the garden so the least I could do for him was the canning part...RIGHT?

I was so tempted to toss a few cukes in the garbage as I was scooping out those seeds I can assure you! Wonder if the Lord has ever thought, "Think I will just toss this one out cause she seems to be a "tiring job" for me to train in the way she should go?

Or maybe, "All this work and little production isn't paying off!

Sometimes the Lord just wants us to sit a while...you know what I mean? Sometimes we just need to "Be Still, and know that He is God! Psalm 46:10

During that "Sitting time" a lot of things  can happen! We might actually learn something about ourselves...or better yet, about HIM!

Something beautiful begins to happen when we take the time to sit at His feet....We change! Our thoughts, our words and our actions change.

Having our quiet time with the Lord makes us not only feel different but look different! Did you know you will even look different when you make the time for Jesus?

A smile appears where this was a frown. Your soul begins to do the Happy Dance. Your whole countenance seems to change......

I don't know about you but I am so grateful that my Lord doesn't "just" simply toss me out when I don't seem so productive for Him. I most grateful when I discipline myself to RELAX and SIT at His feet for a while! Amazing at the outcome.............

God loves us just like we are my friends....but He doesn't want to leave us where we are! Take some time today to sit at His feet! Amazing at the outcome!

P.S. Guess what I am eating right about now?

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
