Oh my! It's been a month since I have blogged. I honestly have found it hard to keep up but I am blaming on family time! What better explanation could I have huh? Well, maybe BAKING ! Vanilla cake with chocolate sauce filling and cool whip with powdered sugar icing topped with sprinkles. Chocolate with fresh strawberry filling with buttercream frosting and a touch of candy pearls. Butter cake with buttercream icing and chocolate sauce. There has been a whole lot of baking going on at my house. I get in these moods at times. Family & friends have enjoyed my gifts of love. My daughter Melissa and I carried my granddaughter Kyleigh and one of her sweet friends to see Snow White. We had such a fun time with the girls. Our family enjoyed watching our granddaughter Adalynn in her first cheer competition. Her team won 1st place. Our granddaughter Mallory attended her Junior prom and had the best time. I've decided that blue is her color! I thought this was the cutest pi...
YIKES! Are you like me this season looking at the calendar and thinking "how did another holiday creep upon me so quickly? Thanksgiving is right around the corner isn't it?

Thanksgiving is my husband's favorite time of the year. He says and I quote in his words, "No one expects anything from you other than your presence".
I'll let you think about that phrase on your on without my elaboration......
What could be more important than being in the presence of the ones you love the most and hold dearest to your heart?
I can't help but think about how our Lord Jesus feels when we wander from His presence. His ultimate desire is to fellowship with us.
As Thanksgiving is drawing near let us all be reminded that truly this day should be one that brings us in remembrance of our many blessings but also a day to remind us that our time on this earth that is spent with those we love is short.
Let's be grateful for those people that can be in our presence...and more so....let's not forsake the "gift" of being in His presence.
Hugs and blessings, Cindy
P.S. Free printable coloring sheet for the kids or grands...another way of "spending time" in their presence....

HOPE you have the most blessed THANKSgiving ever, my friend. Yes, every single holiday is here and gone before I can even get prepared for it. I so see why my Mom just quit celebrating!! :(
ReplyDeleteI love what your husband says! Don't know how he meant it but I see this as NO one thinks they are suppose to GET-GET-GET! We sure do take it for granite that those we love so much will be here tomorrow though. I need to STOP and take the presence of those I love to my heart. Great post today Cindy.

ReplyDeletehave a wonderful thanksgiving, cindy:)
Good Morning Miss Cindy, love your post today. I often thing about how we set aside all differences and accept each other fully (quirks and all) during the holidays - why can't we do that everyday? We so often take people for granted and then miss them the moment they leave. Many times loved ones leave and we wish we had told them how much they mean to us. We should show our loved ones how much we care all year - not just on a few special occasions and there is no better way of doing that than giving them quality time - our full presence ( no cell phones, no computers, no video games or distractions). The little things can make a big difference. Happy Thanksgiving - EVERYDAY! Johnna D.
