{May Has Arrived}

I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

Wednesday In The Word-Living Life Backwards

At the age of... Well, let's say middle age.... I find that for a lot of us we feel as though we have lived our lives backwards! When we are young we tend to hurry through life...We make decisions that will shape the rest of our life. Some are good and some are bad. But we can and are wise to learn from those who have gained insight from life's experiences.

No Better Teacher than Experience!

I read a piece once about someone that decided to do a sociological study of 50 people over the age of 90. WOW! Not a whole lot of people live to be 90 now.

The question was asked: If you could live your life over again, what would you do differently?
Three general responses came....

1: I would reflect more
2: I would risk more
3: I would do more things that would live on after I am dead!

An elderly woman wrote this about how she would live her life if she had it to do over again.

I'd make more mistakes next time. I'd relax and limber up some. I'd be sillier and take fewer things more seriously. I would take more chances on things and people.  I would eat more ice cream and less vegetables. I'd take more vacations and see more sunsets. I'd walk bare foot more in the yard and dance in the rain. I'd say more "I love you's". I'd hug more necks. I'd laugh more at myself. I'd eat a different kind of candy bar every day...well, maybe I would take Sunday's off from eating candy. I'd read more, laugh more and cry more.  Instead of living my years ahead of time I would try to savor the moments. At my age that is all you have....is moments! Death is but a heart beat away.

The truth of the matter is my friends that at any age all we have are moments. The Word tells us that our life is but a vapor. Here today and gone tomorrow!

Proverbs 2:2 says..."Incline your ear to wisdom and apply your heart to understanding".

There is a song that is truly beautiful and here are the words...

If I Could Live My Life All Over Again

There Is One Thing That I Have Learned
In the Wisdom of Of My Years
And If I Had Only Found
The Wisdom That I Hold So Dear Now

Chorus
If I Could Live My Life All Over Again
Jesus
I Would Paint Each Day
With the Colors of Your Love

If I Could Go Back in Time
I Tell You What I’d Do
I 'd Spend More Time with My Kids and My Wife
And Strive to Live A Holy Life

If I Could Live My Life All over Again
Jesus
I Would Paint Each Day
With the Colors of Your Love

Only What I Have Done In Love Will Remain
Now I Know, the Way Is Clear,
To Walk in Love While I'm Living Here

If I Had Only Lived According to His Plans
And Followed after His Ways
Grace and Peace Would Have
Followed Me All of My Days

If I Could Live My Life All over Again
Jesus
I Would Paint Each Day
With the Colors of Your Love
Have a blessed day....

  2. Your words are well-timed, my friend. I've been reflecting a lot lately. I'm not anywhere near ninety - but my dear, little mother if ninety-one. Her life is slowing down and each day is a gift. As I review and reflect I think it's time to follow the advice of the older folks you quoted today. Thank you! I love the words to that song. I'd love to find the music.

  3. Great post Cindy! I have no regrets. If I lived my life over again I'd probably still make changes if I had a third chance to live it over again. lol!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...
