It's a tad late to wish a Happy New Year but I sure hope that it's kicked off good for everyone. Ours kicked off with being so THANKFUL for what God has done and is doing. As I told my family as we were reminiscing over 2024, "There is a lot of 2024 I DO NOT WANT A RE-DO but the Lord has surely taught me so very much. I am truly thankful for each breath, each day, family and close friends. We had our three youngest grands for New Years Eve. We had a great time and the girls enjoyed a little fishing, bonfire with their great-grandfather and roasting marshmallows. Their great-grandfather will be 90 years old next month. As most of you know I do a monthly focus board and this makes my 3rd or 4th year. I've lost count. Only fitting that New Beginnings would be my focus for January. This has been so good for me as it sits on my kitchen counter so I can see it daily. Wonderful way to focus and quote God's Word daily. I felt up to hosting a lunch and movie day with ...
I know that some of you have read this before but thought it worth reading again today.
Dear Lord, I haven't done anything wrong today. I have not made any mistakes, spoken any wrong words, or had any bad thoughts. I have done everything right so far. But Lord, I haven't gotten out of bed yet so I am really depending on You.
Haven't we all felt that same way at times? Can I tell you something? That is exactly where Christ wants us to be....DEPENDENT on HIM! Not just for a medical need or a financial need but for everything in our life.
It seems that we have a tendency to NOT see our need for Christ when things are going well for us. But the minute we find ourselves in a crisis of some kind then we reach out to Him and we reach out in desperation.
"At times my failure to see my need for Christ every day upon every hour has caused me hardship and heartache".
If you feel that you are in a place in your life right now that you KNOW that you cannot take another step without the Lord's help then also know that He has you right where He wants you right now. WHY? So you can depend on HIM!
During the times of my life that I've had a desperate need for Christ I have spent my sweetest most intimate moments with Him. SOUNDS crazy I know. But it is during those times that I have truly DRAWN NEAR TO HIM!
Why does it seem to be that way for us?
The sweetest thing is that He is always there for us! He wants to accomplish great things through us and through our situation and He only does that through a life of faith on our part. He wants our individual attention because we cannot do things on our own! No matter what it is!
Don't think for a minute that God has forsaken you during your greatest time of need. Matter of fact He is leading you every step of the way!
Isaiah 30:21 says: Your ears shall hear a word behind you saying, this is the way, walk in it".
May we learn daily to depend on God...we need Him every hour, every minute and every second of the day.

ReplyDeleteAwesome words of wisdom from a very wise lady! HOPE you have a great day!!! (p.s...our computer is FINALLY working again...yippee)
ReplyDeleteI am wanting MORE of GOD in my life. I am turning to Him for everything! I long for Him to consume every fiber of my being. It is my desire that when my co-workers or family look at me they see Him. So, yes, I think I am right where He wants me and I pray always for the wisdom to remain there. Thanks Cindy for this wonderful word of encouragment!
ReplyDelete{{hugs}} Sister!
Perfect message! I always feel I am in the perfect time, place and people that surround me and of course, I have my sweet Jesus to thank. My problem is I always find myself praying for my DD, although she's just fine and happy even. I guess wants her where she is too and I don't need to question HIM!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. I needed this!
Hugs,
FABBY
That verse is one of my favorite verses in the entire Word. Considering how much I love every breath of it, that is saying something. I also love the song from your graphic.
ReplyDeleteExcellent post, and you are spot on in every word.
