{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{Life Fusion} Event

Our county is honored that we have a First Coast Women's Service Center. Their mission statement is: to prevent the tragedy of abortion by offering truthful information, emotional support, and practical assistance to individuals who are facing unplanned pregnancies. They also offer sexual abstinence as a positive lifestyle for singles and provide opportunities for healing and restoration to those who have been hurt by abortion. Most importantly they share the love of Jesus in a caring, non-judgmental environment. Services are free and confidential. We are truly blessed to have FCWS in our community. Recently they had a wonderful event called Life-Fusion, a dinner and auction to benefit the Center. It was wonderful.

Each table was beautifully decorated.

My kind of decor....

Different people offered their services by donating items that would be used for a silent auction. Choices consisted of but not limited to Baby Shower basket, Chocolate basket, Hair products basket, Beach theme, Yeti cooler, and so much more. Our ladies at my church opted to do a Chocolate lovers basket. I was thrilled with our choice as it held tons of chocolate including a 100$ bill and a $50 bill in the basket.

I wish I could show you all the pictures of the silent auction goods but decided to show a few of my favorites. Don't you just love the Beach theme? I should have bid on that one!!!

Yeti Cooler...WOWZERS!

 Hair products with a gift card.

The wreath was simply beautiful and the sign stole my heart.

A group shot with some sweet friends.

Another shot of one of the many beautiful tables.

I love this banner! It is actually HUGE and the whole banner is covered in the precious faces of little ones.

Here is a better view to actually show you how big this is.

 Look at this adorable little girl? I just wanted to grab her cute little cheeks and squeeze them.

Sweet moment captured.

And of course who wouldn't WANT THIS?

So many Trips and Getaways was auctioned off and I'm not talking an average trip to the Zoo...LOL! I am talking exclusive package deals.

They also had an auction with five specialty cakes that was donated. Last year I had the opportunity to bake a cake for them and I had that opportunity again this year. Here are the five cakes that was donated.

I cannot remember the exact name of this cake but I think it was a Hersey's chocolate cake. Either way...it looked YUMMY!

Humming bird cake. (on my list of favorite cakes to eat) and I have a SIL that makes one that will melt in your mouth!

Starbucks chocolate mounds cake. Ooh...it took all I had to not snitch a cookie off the top of this beautiful cake.

Strawberry white chocolate cake. (Isn't this cake just beautiful?)

And mine. A salted caramel peanut butter chocolate cake. The auctioneer was so fun to listen too and when he got to this cake he said, "One thing is for sure...this cake will stick to the roof of your mouth and last for days".

Each cake brought in money for the FCWS. And I'm not talking a little bit of money either and all for a great cause.

The event was laced with beautiful singing, good food and wonderful people. There was so much laughter shared....and a few tears.

The guest speaker was Gianna Jessen. (lady sitting down) You can go online and check her out for more of her testimony if interested. http://www.giannajessen.com/about.html  Gianna is a survivor of a burning saline solution abortion. The doctors said that she would never survive. She also has cerebral palsy. "The failed abortion had also provided the “gift” of cerebral palsy, as she calls it: Her words: “It allows me to really depend on Jesus for everything.”

Her message was loud of clear! No matter WHAT...finish the race that God has set before you! God was in the midst of well over 300 attenders for this event and I can assure you that His Word went forth!

My heart was deeply moved as I listened to the testimony of this young couple. Tears filled the room but then Victory rang loud and clear.

As most of my blogging friends know I snapped a few maternity pictures of my daughter that is due with her first baby in April. Though I loved them all there was one picture that melted my heart and it was this one if you will recall.

As soon as I looked at this picture my thoughts went to Psalm 139:13-14
For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.

Last year while blogging I entered a contest for a FREE 16x20 canvas that Heather, from Our Life In A Click  was offering. http://ourlifeinaclick.blogspot.com/ and I WON! I decided to redeem my win by doing a canvas piece of that particular picture and using the scripture (Psalm 139:13-14) All I could think about was that one day our little Adalynn (who is on her way) would treasure this picture of her mom carrying her inside of her mother's body and it would be a reminder to her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made...by the Master Designer Himself!

Well, wouldn't you just know that the day after the First Coast Women's Event that the Canvas piece I ordered was delivered. Another sweet reminder that YES...we are wonderfully and fearfully made and that our life has purpose.

Jesus makes no mistakes. Life is precious to Him...My life and Your life is precious to our Lord. After all....He did CREATE us.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. I don't know where to start. First, what an awesome organization. I can't even imagine sitting and listening to that dear lady's story, and I know I'd have been in tears, too. So glad that lots of money was raised for such a worthy cause. Next....that cake you made...wowsers!!! It looks soooo good! And, third...that picture of your baby girl carrying her baby girl....you picked such perfect Bible verse to go along with it. That will be cherished for many, many years. I'm so excited to finally get to "meet" Miss Adalynn....she's going to be a beauty just like all the rest of the Conner girls. ;-)

GOD was PRAISED and LIFTED HIGH .... I can assure you that the EXTENT of all that God has and will do THROUGH it we will never be completely known till we see the AUTHOR and Creator of the multitudes of babies and families that will be FOREVER altered by HIS LOVING hand.... because of "IT" and
    "THOSE HE USED" to bring it about <3 I was HONORED to even be in the same ROOM where HE was so MIGHTILY at work!!!! I also want to say how honored I was to see and be in a picture of ladies labeled "some of YOUR FRIENDS" YOU are SUCH a GIFT to SO MANY and I thank God ... I'm one of them <3 Can't wait to see the pictures that will celebrate and journal the day that God Gifts your sweet family with another of HIS precious children to raise for HIS GLORY ..... Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
