I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month. Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now! Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said! I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style. The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters. Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo
Oh my it seems we've had lots going on in our neck of the woods. How about you? When I said to someone recently "I have a busy and full life" I meant every word of it but I would not take anything for the wonderful life that God has given to me!
So here's a few highlights........
New kitchen granite counters are now installed and I LOVE THEM! Here's a before picture and after picture I snapped with my cell phone. Dang those cell phone camera's come in handy at times!!!
Before new counters.
A few pictures of the new granite.
New sinks too.
I do love the color.
Now of course I must change out the handles on the cabinets and drawers. I've got to buy new bar stools because when they took out my drop down bar off my counter then the bar stools I have are now too short. Bar stools with backs or no backs???? There's also a little touch of painting on one wall that needs to be done and I had no intentions of painting my kitchen cabinets but now I'm having 2nd thoughts. My cabinets are 22 years old and solid oak and I love them. But...now I am wondering if I need to go with a darker color cabinet. Paint or Stain? Give me some ideas ladies..... I love my kitchen floors but then would I need to replace it with another color if I change my kitchen cabinet color! And handles for the cabinets....oh my! 29 of them I need to purchase! Decisions, decisions...MONEY, MONEY!
But my granny used to say...."Rome wasn't built in a day".
Another highlight for me recently was that I was invited to speak at one of our local nursing homes for Mother's Day where my mom resides and needless to say "God was good". The place was packed out with family to support the mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers.
Then I had another wonderful opportunity to speak to mothers and daughters at an event the same afternoon. The decor was Mad Hatter (in which I do love) and beautifully done. Needless to say when I arrived home that night this old chick was dragging but in a GOOD WAY! I did snap a few pics with my phone camera to share. There was an array of fingerfoods and desserts.
My prayer through the messages delivered that day was that our Lord would be honored.
My oldest daughter just celebrated her birthday on May 3. She wanted "Brownies and Ice cream" for her CAKE and that's what she got.
She got all sorts of nice gifts but this one cracked me up.
My middle daughter is always telling her sister (the birthday girl) that she is a Trophy Wife. She loves to aggravate!
Mother's Day couldn't have been any better. Anytime you are surrounded by your children and grandchildren it's a true blessing. I am so proud of the mama's my girls are to their children. Raising them in the Word of God is the sweetest gift I could ever ask for in my life!
And speaking of gifts.....I just have to share this cute picture of the newest grandgirl that is a gift from heaven. She is about ready to go to the beach don't you think? LOL!
And I just couldn't let the opportunity pass me by today without paying tribute to my motherinlove for her birthday who is walking on the streets of Glory with our Lord.
She would have been 78 today. She is so very missed by our family. She was a wonderful role model at what it truly means to be a Godly Mother, Motherlove, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Her life was her family and she taught us all well what family truly means. I am looking forward to the day when I will see her again.
Next week I'll be sharing a simple and easy recipe for mini chocolate pies...and OH YES....GOOD, GOOD, GOOD!

You've been a busy lady! Love the counter tops. I personally would go with a tad darker cabinet but I love the floors! Pictures are so cute Cindy of everything. Your oldest daughter looks like you to me. YUM on the dessert.
ReplyDeleteConnie Royals
Thanks Connie. The thing I DISLIKE about trying to redo things at home is then I find myself wanting to REDO everything! LOL!
DeleteBusy lady! Baby granddaughter is cuter every day!! Those chocolate pies look DELISH!! I love your countertops. They look like mine and it's great to get the new sink isn't it?? My cabinets are similar to yours so I'll be following along to see what people say. I really want to paint mine!
ReplyDeleteHeather,I'm not a big sweet eater but those little pies are sure tasty. Yeah, just not sure about the cabinets. I dislike painting and my man dislikes it even more! Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteWe recently shopped for counter stools and ended up have these requirements 1. backs for sure 2. swivel 3. vinyl or leather seats so you can slide on and off easily 4. you really need to sit in them as some were very comfortable and some not so much (that eliminated any online orders) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think bar stools in next on my list to do. I have a large dining room table so right now we are thinking in lines of regular bar stools to take up less room since my table is close by. But who knows...I am BAD to change my mind! LOL!
DeleteI like everything! Wow those strawberry tea sandwiches caught my eye. I like the Mad Hatter too! So proud of you, Cindy, speaking and sharing Good News. You go, girl. Father God is smiling I bet. I think the cabinets look nice just as they are! Love the way you share your beautiful family with us. Those chocolate mini pies look yummy. And that little peanut is looking groovy in those sunglasses! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteLOL. new grandgirl is growing by leaps and bounds. YEP, the Mad Hatter theme is always a plus to me!
DeleteYou're life is REALLY full, but oh, so blessed. Love those new countertops....but I understand how one thing leads to another....to another....and another! LOL It's never ending sometimes. Our home is so in need of renovation, but like you said....money, money. :( So glad you had such a great Mother's Day. You and all 3 of your girls are beautiful. And, oh, that newest grand girl....mercy, she's adorable. HOPE you have a great rest of the week, sweet Friend....take care....slow down! ;-)
ReplyDeleteDeb, Marty told me recently I needed to slow down a tad and start saying NO to even some good things in life. I'm really praying about what to say NO too! LOL! But oh yes, you are right. You start on one thing at home and then you see other things that need to be done. But if I have the time I have no money and if I have the money I have no time. Never ending story isn't it?
DeleteYour new counter tops are beautiful! I do love the design and color. What sweet photos of the family on Mother's Day! Wonderful memories. And that little sweet one is adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks Melanie. Hope you are doing well sweet lady.
DeleteBeautiful new countertops Cindy. Yes, one thing does lead to another in remodeling or updating the house. Our remodeling just keeps expanding. After remodeling the kitchen and part of the bathroom, I'm now painting woodwork which will take me a while to do. It's fun reading about your family with great pics of them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy. My problem is like everyone else I guess...when I wanted something I wanted it last week! Patience has not been a virtue lately! LOL!
DeleteThose countertops are wonderful! Maybe paint the kitchen cabinets an off white or cream? Bar stools with backs definitely! Those brownies with ice cream...my sweet tooth is screaming at me to make some now! Loved this post Cindy :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny Karen! My daughter Melissa told me off white or cream cabinets and then I would not need to change the floor color. My grandkids loved the brownies cause they were so big! LOL! Thanks Karen for stopping by!
DeleteOh I would love to hear you speak! I know that you were a blessing and that The Lord used you mightily. Your daughters are all beautiful. What makes a trophy wife besides beauty and intelligence? Money? A sense of style? Must look this up. Your new grandbaby is so darling and growing fast...love the sunglasses!
ReplyDeleteAwe...Vee you are so sweet. My Melissa tells her sister Kristy that she is a trophy wife cause Kristy's husband does so much for her. Ha! I say...GOOD FOR YOU girl! LOL!
DeleteOops...meant to say that your new countertops are beautiful. I give no suggestions as I am completely unqualified.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vee.
DeleteLove your new countertops!! The only problem with remodeling is WHERE to stop!! Live with your new counters for awhile and you'll figure our what you want. Your talks sounded inspiring, I know your
ReplyDeletelisteners were blessed. Love your family time photos, too! You are one blessed lady alright!! Z
Thanks so much. I love them too! But like you said...where to stop!
DeleteYou had a joyous mother's day, Cindy, and for that I am thankful. What blessings it is to be a mother, grandmother, and mentor! thank you for sharing! ~Zuni
ReplyDeleteThanks Zuni. It is always a pleasure to your beautiful picture pop up by your name on my blog! You always make my day!
DeleteYou really have been busy in a very good and very blessed way! I'd take a brownie and ice cream over cake any day. Beautiful pictures of your family.
ReplyDeleteThanks Betsy. Yep, the brownies and ice cream was a hit for sure.
DeleteCindy, I always enjoy your post. God has blessed you with a beautiful family. Love your countertops, looks like a new kitchen! I don't know about 'staining' but I do know painting cabinets might sound easy enough but it's not!!! Prep, prep, prep....I painted my cabinets and I loved the new look, but had to redo and redo where the doors shut, touching the frame. The paint would pull loose. If you think you've sanded enough, sand some more!
ReplyDeleteThanks Miss Mary. I too just recently heard that painting the cabinets was VERY time consuming and a lot harder than it looks. I've had several tell me the staining was easier but even when they say "It will be dry in 4 hours" not to believe it! I might just shine up my old cabinets, get new handles and go from there! Ha!
DeleteYou do have a full and busy life. I do as well and we both love it!! I just know that you are an amazing speaker. You are so full of love and faith! Your girls are darling and so are you! That beach baby is too, too cute!!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Thanks Jann! Our beach baby is growing by leaps and bounds.
DeleteYour new counters are beautiful. We recently did some work in our kitchen but we opted to keep the counters we had. Funds and energy went into other things and I'm happy with the change. Can't wait to see what other changes you make. What a treat for you to speak at the Mother's Day tea. I know you were a blessing!
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
Adrienne, I loved my counters too that I've had to be honest. But my man wanted granite so granite it was. Glad we made the change cause now I love it. The only problem is when I start on one thing then I want to do another! LOL!
DeleteCindy your counter tops are really pretty. The color is like mine except mine are formica not granite and I have light oak cabinets. I am not a decorator (you could give me a million dollars and I would still have to have someone to decorate for me) so I think you kitchen looks great. I love how big your kitchen is and you have so many cabinets. You are very talented so therefore you are going to have to do what pleases you and it will be beautiful whatever that is. Brownies and ice cream, yum, yum. Love you.....Jackie
ReplyDeleteAwe thanks Miss Jackie. You crack me up.....My problem is I DISLIKE having to pay someone for something I can do but as I've been AGING...that's beginning to look a lot better to me! LOL!
DeleteCindy, I am so glad I dropped over. I love this post. I am always so happy that people use their blog to praise the Lord. They aren't afraid of what others will think and who knows how many lives are touched when they read. I love your new counter tops! My cabinets are similar in color but are hickory. My sister remodeled her kitchen several years ago and her hickory cabinets are a darker stain and they are gorgeous! I think darker would really look nice with your new countertop. I don't think the floor would have to be changed. Hope to read more from you in the future. xo Dianne
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by. I can't praise HIM enough! Thanks for the ideas on cabinets. Still pondering! The majority I have talked with says STAIN is the way and I hear lots of good things about the gel stain. Decisions, decisions. I might be lowing for a while on this one Dianne. LOL!
DeleteLoveeeee the Mad Hatter. I think with the new counters, maybe you ought to paint the cabinets black...French country like. Just saying.....lol...Have a beautiful weekend friend...loveeeeeee the photos of the baby....
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. That sweet baby sure has us all CRAZY in love!
DeleteYes my friend, nothing better then granite counter tops for a kitchen. we went thru it like you five years ago and I totally love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great birthday party, I took some notes to do just that for my twelve year old soon to be grandgirl.
You are all such gorgeous ladies, starting from your dearest mom.
Hugs,
FABBY
Thanks Fabby! No matter the age most little girls love a tea party it seems. I know this BIG girl does! LOL!
DeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteove your new counter tops!! I always say that when you start one project , you get a case of the "might as wells" I might as well do this and I might as well change that, etc! It all has a snow aball effect like one rolling down a hil and it keeps getting bigger and bigger..... Thanks so much for stopping by!! That grand baby of your is so cute!!
Hugs,
Deb
You are so right Debbie. Thanks so much.
DeleteYour counter tops look great. I did countertops recently and painted the cabinets but left the original hardware. I didn't count the knobs but it was a bunch. Yes, one thing leads to another.
ReplyDeleteFood and decorations at the parties look great. Yes, you have been busy. Happy Birthday to the birthday girl.
I know you are a good speaker. I would love to hear you.
Your new baby is growing!
Bonnie, still debating on cabinets. Think I may sit on it a while. The more I look at them the more I think "Just change the hardware". Thanks for stopping by Bonnie.
