{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu

{Tuesday Toot}

Since the weather is warm it seems that yard sales are popping up weekly in my neck of the woods. I decided this past weekend to hit up a few yard sales and I came home tooting about my loot! You just gotta love a good yard sale!

Found this cutie in mint condition! LOVE IT!

This cute little tote sure opened the door for a little church service on Saturday.  Love how the Lord uses the most simple things in life to talk about HIM and give Him praise.

Isn't this cute for $1 and just in time for 4th of July!

If you know anything about Wilton baking products then you know the brand is good. I knew as soon as I saw this set of four tasty-fill mini cake pans I needed wanted it. I see some cute individual desserts happening soon. It had never been used and I got it for $2. They are $12.99 brand new at Joann's.

Ooh...don't ya just love these pretty pillows?
They may be for a giveaway soon....Or I might keep them. (LOL)

I need another snack plate about as bad as my grandbabies need more toys!!!! But I cannot resist this pattern. I have several different patterns of snack plates but this is my favorite.

Table runner...washed it so now just gotta iron it! I just happen to have some dishes that will match this table runner perfectly!

I wanted more of these to add to my collection too!!! I love them and I use them a lot!  You can buy these most often for $1 each but when you can get 4 for $1....REALLY? How could I pass that up.

YES, YES, YES! The lady had broken the creamer dish but that's okay....Because it was worth the whole $5 I spent on this beauty!

 I feel like I done pretty good with my buys.

So I decided to get an early start on my July 4th Tablescape so I could enjoy it. I decided I needed some cute little napkin rings.

I spotted these patriotic pin buttons. Six on a card for $1 so grabbed a couple of packs.

Found the spool of wired ribbon at Walmart for less than $4. I cut 8 of these the length I wanted and hot glued the ends together by overlapping the ends just a tad.

Placed them around my napkin and pinned a button on each one. YAY...I am happy with them.  Hope to show you my 4th of July tablescape soon.

And here is what happens when you get side-tracked with tablescapping.....You get your toast a little too brown on the edge! But...the middle part was good!

Lastly, I wanted to share these two pictures with you. I've been capturing some little personality shots with these two grandgirls and my daughter (their mom) wanted to frame several to put in the girls bathroom. I loved the idea of this and I thought these turned out adorable.

These pictures capture their personalities perfectly.

Great things going on this week in our neck of the woods. One of my grand-girl's is being acknowledged for straight A's all year. Two grandbabies will be showcasing their talents and gifts with singing, piano and guitar in a recital. And I'm working on a vacation spot for a few days for a little getaway...Life is good my friends...even on a bad day!

 I feel the sounds of the waves calling my name....

Sharing with Jemma this week for "Thoughts of Home".

  15. Good Morning Sweet Lady!
    You hit the jack pot with your keen eye. I would have snapped that table runner up too-I am visualizing all sorts of colorful Summer table settings with that as the anchor piece.
    How fun that you collect snack plates because I have 8 that were my Momma's. I wanted to use them at the Art & Craft retreat, but I forgot to get them out...
    So happy that the grands are doing well and making their sweet Nana ( I think you go by Nana...) so proud.
    Life is good and when we thank God for the blessing of it, it is even better!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th

{May Blessings Photo Dump}

June has crept upon us it seems. Y'all, it's six months until Christmas! LOL!  Wanted to share a few of my May blessings.  We have been blessed with fresh potatoes. We've been able to share some with others and still have plenty. My cucumbers, okra and orange tree was destroyed in the tornado that we took a hit from but what a blessing that we pulled the potatoes before the tornado.  Speaking of tornado it's been a job cleaning up the aftermath. God spared our home and us as we were home. Marty and I heard the sound of the tornado and retrieved to our bathtub for safety. The affects surely done a number on our barn, my shed, a pull trailer and oh our property was in a mess. Huge OLD trees gone! Such a mess but we are beginning to see the light at the end of tunnel with the cleanup. We have been so blessed with our children and friends that have come to help us. God surely had a hedge of protection around us.  Our oldest granddaughter Raygen graduation from College as Su
