{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{Simple Beach Tablescape} and Giveaway!

It's time for a beach tablescape! Well I am going to go ahead and confess that I am more of your mountain kind of gal and in the winter months but there is just something about the beach that calls my name.....

I started out with a centerpiece with some mason jars! You just gotta love a mason jar! I actually bought this at AC MOORE and you can use it for so many different things. It came with chalkboard tags to use if you wanted too. Just a few seashells and some flowers and I was good to go.

I love these plates I bought from Walmart. They are so summery looking. Found the cute place mats at the Dollar Tree.

I couldn't believe I found the color of blue I was looking for with the stainless steel flatware at Walgreen's.

And it was on SALE!!!! My kind of purchase!

It didn't take me long to come up with a simple tablescape with the pretty blues, greens and yellows.

And these goblets will always be my favorite to use.

I had to hunt for them but finally found my beach theme salt and pepper shakers.

A couple of cute little candle holders I wrapped in jute last year added to my beach theme nicely.

Decided to use my little boat to house my freshly picked tomatoes for the day.

And what beach trip is complete without some Debbie cakes right?

Rounded up my coffee can that I covered with paper and jute and decided to put some of my favorite utensils in.

Cute little candle holders works great to hold my coffee condiments.

A little display of seashells adorn my counter top.

A small vignette shows off a little beach theme.

And if you can't truly smell the ocean then why not have a candle that smells like the Ocean?

This sweet little grandgirl painted a picture with a fish which I was excited about since I had a beach theme going.

Her finished product didn't get to stay at Nana's house though. She liked it so good she decided to carry it home. LOL!

Yep, simple but I love it!

This is my sweet friend and sister in Christ Alisa. This was her first round of chemo and I would like to ask you if you would take just a minute to say a prayer for my friend. She is one strong lady in the Lord and we are praying for great and mighty things to be accomplished through her that will make a difference for eternity.

And on one of my yard sale expeditions I came across this Bible Study, Gideon, by Priscilla Shirer. I have taught this Bible Study and it's excellent. The book had not been used though the outside cover was worn somewhat. But I snatched it up in hopes to give it to someone that would enjoy it.

In honor of my friend Alisa I would like to give this book to one lucky and blessed gal. There is no hoops to jump through here. Just simply comment on the blog and your name will go into a drawing. Winner announced next week.

I am joining Jemma this week for Thoughts of Home.

  23. Thank you my friend for your friendship, love, support, and I know many prayers on my behalf. They mean more than I can express. Have had a couple of bad nights of my body adjusting to the chemo ... So knowing that I have you and these precious ladies praying for me is SUCH an encouragement ... And I LOVE when my Lord gives a word to hang on to at just the moment it's so desperately needed ... Yesterday just when I was starting to have some issues Stephen and I sat down to do our Bible study and the scripture that was at the top of the opening page of Bible Gateway was 2 Timothy 2:3 ► Thou therefore endure suffering, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ....He has not promised to take away the pain .... but I'm so thankful that He HAS promised He's there and that He will bring good out of it in the end. How I TREASURE your sweet friendship and oh how every encouragement you send BLESSES MY sometime feeble heart! Love the Beach theme .. I have told my children that when we are DONE with this .. I want to all get together at a BIG BEACH HOUSE on the Gulf and CELEBRATE ... I love you my friend .. Alisa Dixon

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
