{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{The Beach Bum Has Returned}

I have missed my blogging buddies this past week but I sure have enjoyed some time away with my man at the beach. We had such a great time. We went to Rest and Relax and we certainly done both. Matter of fact we became quiet good at R & R!  I'm missing it now. But, I Praise the Lord that we had the opportunity to go and have some time away.

We had the opportunity to stay in a SWEET Coastal Cottage on the beach and I snapped so many pictures with my handy dandy cell phone... I decided that in order not to do picture OVERLOAD that I needed to do some collages so for you to see.

The first sign we see was this....

And WELCOMED we felt!

We loved everything about this cottage. The location, the privacy, the home and the hosts!
The cottage has it's own private entrance and gated courtyard. The east side of the cottage had a courtyard patio and west side had large covered deck with sundecks.Though the cottage was actually nestled in a small neighborhood it did not lack in privacy.

Upon arrival the hosts met us there to hand us the keys to the cottage along with a tour. I am STILL amazed at such detail that was put into our stay. We could have asked questions if we had any but honestly there was no need for that because there was little notes here and there that basically answered everything we might would want to know! I've never seen anyone put so much detail into a person's stay!

The beach theme is carried throughout the home as you can see in the pictures. The decor was lovely and oh so Coastal. The hosts are both renovation addicts so they are constantly adding to their home for others to enjoy. Our hosts gave us a little history on the home stead. It was a very old home built back in 1940 and the host's parents bought it in 1962. Her dad was a Captain of a fishing boat and very well known in the area. Most if not all of the nautical decor in the home is authentic. Her mom owned a beautiful little shop on St. George Street in St. Augustine Florida that specialized in decor items.  Over the years they have done renovation to the home but have tried to maintain much of the original home. There was so much history with this home that it made one feel that you knew this family.

 And as soon as I saw this cute scale y'all know I wanted it! LOL!

The kitchen area opened up onto a back deck that wrapped around one half of the deck. Chairs, tables, comfy lounger's and lots of beautiful greenery and flowers adorned this area.

We did carry our own beach chairs, umbrella and beach towels with us but we didn't have too as all of that was provided for us. They even provided a beach wagon which made things nice for us.

The outdoor area of the cottage was it's own little paradise for us. We loved it that when we would return from the beach that we could shower off outside in private before going back into the cottage.
The provided everything! Beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella, boogie boards, and a charcoal grill with everything we needed to grill with.

The hosts had fresh flowers cut and in vases throughout the home. Even inside the closets we would find cute tags to show you what was available for you to use and decorated as well!

Awe yes....we enjoyed every moment of the beach life.
We grilled at the cottage one night. My man cooked breakfast several mornings and we went out to eat breakfast one morning. If you have a Village Inn in your area try their skillet breakfast. My man had the Ultimate and I had the California skillet. SO GOOD!  We also went out to eat dinner several nights. We had so much food one night that we had leftovers added to a salad for the next night. And of course you just can't beat having eggs, toast, bacon and sausage for breakfast right?

I actually had the time to sit and read a book in which I love to read. Fishing, reading, eating and lounging around...What a life right?

The beach was just a short walk from the cottage which made it extra nice.

There is nothing like watching the sun rise on the beach. Only God could make something so beautiful. A couple of days we saw dolphins. There would be three to six of them swimming together. It was a beautiful site.
Vilano Beach in St. Augustine is a beautiful beach. So pristine and clean. Shells galore. (Which of course I brought back some to add to my collection) Vilano is more of a private beach area compared to some even in the busy season. Of course our stay was when all the kids was getting back into school and most vacations was ending so we had almost total seclusion.  For those living across the miles, if you ever come to Florida looking for a quaint place on the beach to stay then send me a message and I'd be glad to give you more information. Or, if you are a local wanting a little getaway...I strongly suggest this is the place. This lovely cottage is for 4 people but for us it was simply a nice, quiet, romantic getaway for two!

There is NO PLACE LIKE HOME but I sure did enjoy being a BEACH BUM for just a little while!

Well, it's back to reality! But I can still hear the sounds of the ocean.

God is Good!

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

    1. LOL Linda! We did have a great time and it was needed. When you man leaves most mornings at 4:30 to go to work and gets home about 6:30 in the afternoons believe me, rest and relation was needed. Yes, I too could live there! I loved it! But my man would never leave his homestead unless he had too. Though he did tell me one time that if we ever had to move then St. Augustine would be the place! I am in agreement! Missed you too girl!

So glad you had a great time...some of our best vacations were when all the grands were little and we all had campers...we went to the beach and parked at a wonderful RV park, right on the beach....such fun...went for about 4 yrs and then everyone decided we should go other places...my favorite was always the beach, tho..:) Now, all the grands are grown, married or boyfriends, and they are starting traditions of their own...what a Wonderful World.....xoox

    1. Thanks BJ. Yes our family has done the beach scene for several years. We love the family trips but as I always tell the ladies at church...you need time away and alone with your man every now and then. When our kids was young we would camp at KOA campground on the water and it was so much fun. I miss those days. Glad you stopped by to visit.

You couldn't help but have a wonderful time there! I can't wait until November when I get to go to the beach. My destination will be Ormond. Have a great day.

But he likes the Vilano area and Cresent area and with it being a getaway trip he was all for it! I hear Ormond beach nice as well. I know you are looking forward to your November trip.

All that attention to detail and the beautifully decorated rooms, which are so in tune with the beach. I am so happy to hear tht you got to see the dolphins and actually take pictures. 24. I'm glad you had such a quiet, relaxing vacation. That cottage is wonderful! There's nothing like the beach for a change of pace. We are only ninety minutes from the beach so we love to go often. It's about time to go again, I think!

    By the way, my blog is 'down' - closed and I'm having a terrible time getting help to get it back up and running. This has happened before and the problem was supposed to have been fixed. I think I will start a new blog with another blog service and hope to eventually move all the content from my 'old' blog over. Will let you know when that happens or when I can get my blog up and running again.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
