{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{Homecoming, Fall Party and a New Spice}

My sunflowers are beginning to bloom and oh I love them. This is my third year of growing a few sunflowers. They are in memory of my motherinlove who loved sunflowers and went home to be with the Lord three years ago. I know she is smiling. Our weekend kicked off last Thursday with our annual town Homecoming parade. I snapped a few pictures with cell phone. Of course I had to you know since I had grands walking in the parade. Next on the list for the weekend was our annual Conner Family Fall Party at my fatherinlove's home.  I made too many pictures as always so grouped them up so I could share some with you. YEP, still picture overload.   We always begin our fall party with asking the Lord to bless our time of fellowship and then the fun begins. We have chili, hot dogs, chips, and desserts galore! And of course LOTS of candy. Sugar overload is an understatement! Those who want to dress up do and it's so much fun to see what everyone come...

{Carrot Cake Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting and A Little Fun}

I love cookies, cream cheese and pecans so I knew I had to make these cookies. TIP : To save time buy a bag of shredded carrots and then give them a fine chop. I like having all my ingredients on the counter and ready to go. That's how they do it on the cooking shows you know? LOL! Doesn't those specks of freshly chopped carrots make that dough look pretty? YES, I know, I get a little excited about things like this! Made myself a taco salad while baking my cookies. Anything with Sour cream is good! The Recipe I had shows the cookies with nuts surrounding the sides and not the top, which was so pretty. But, I LOVE nuts and decided to top my cookies with nuts. I made these for a family reunion and hid back a few for myself too! I made enough cookies that I boxed up some and gave to a friend for a birthday present. I found the recipe on Pinterest . {Exciting News and the Pumpkin Recipe I promised}

Well let's start with the exciting news!!!  Grandbaby #6 is on the way! We are so excited. Our family is growing by leaps and bounds. Our youngest daughter shared that she will be adding another sweet baby to our family. Blessings just keep a coming! Just seems like this sweet girl was born yesterday and here she is going to be a big sister. Join me as we pray for a healthy pregnancy for our daughter and a healthy baby. "Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged;   parents are the pride of their children". Proverbs 17:6 Well, as I have promised I have the recipe for you for the pumpkin bread with chocolate chips and caramel sauce.. This is so easy to make. I do little things ahead of time that helps me in the kitchen when baking as I am sure you do too. Isn't that just a pretty pumpkin orange? I like to go ahead and grab all my ingredients and get them on my counter for starters. I also grab all bowls, cups and spoons th...

{Tea Party Anyone?}

Tea Time can be any time, anywhere, and with anyone. Right? First things first though and it was a field trip to the fair with this sweet grandgirl. Needless to say she had a ball. To see through the eyes of a child with excitement is nothing short of a miracle that God allows us. After the field trip I carried her to lunch which she could pick anywhere she wanted to go. Burger King is was.  Of course we watched a couple of cartoons at home and then it was time for a LOW TEA .    To the grands play room we went and our tea party began.  I must share with you my Kyleigh's take on raspberry hot tea (warm for her) . She sipped on it just a bit as she ate her shortbread cookie. I knew by her facial expressions that THIS was not her favorite so I said "Ky, you don't like the Raspberry tea?" . She shook her little head no and said "Nana, I love the tea cup though but I would rather have a coke!" Well, she did...

{A Little Fall Y'all}

Even with temps that will be rising to 84 degrees today I am "MAKING" myself say, "There's no place like Fall, there's no place like Fall".  Oh the smell of pumpkin spice has me wanting to make myself a pumpkin pie and eat the whole thing by myself! I have one daughter that loves pumpkin pie as much as me so I would have to share with her... I GUESS!  I've already had several pumpkin spice coffee, pumpkin spice tea, and yes, a pumpkin muffin with nuts. I found a recipe I am wanting to try and it's called Pumpkin Bread with a Caramel Glaze. Is that CRAZY or what?I love ANYTHING with Caramel. Dang, I will just lick it off my fingers. OOH, I wonder if I added some chocolate chips to the pumpkin flavored batter if that might be good too? Yeah, I think I am having a craving for something sweet today. Have you decorated yet for Fall? Are you the more traditional Orange Fall kind of gal or do you like to ...
