Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
Even with temps that will be rising to 84 degrees today I am "MAKING" myself say, "There's no place like Fall, there's no place like Fall".
Oh the smell of pumpkin spice has me wanting to make myself a pumpkin pie and eat the whole thing by myself! I have one daughter that loves pumpkin pie as much as me so I would have to share with her...
I GUESS!
I've already had several pumpkin spice coffee, pumpkin spice tea, and yes, a pumpkin muffin with nuts.
I found a recipe I am wanting to try and it's called Pumpkin Bread with a Caramel Glaze. Is that CRAZY or what?I love ANYTHING with Caramel. Dang, I will just lick it off my fingers.
OOH, I wonder if I added some chocolate chips to the pumpkin flavored batter if that might be good too?
Yeah, I think I am having a craving for something sweet today.
Have you decorated yet for Fall? Are you the more traditional Orange Fall kind of gal or do you like to use different colors?
What special activities do you do in the Fall?
I always decorate my kitchen for Fall whether anything else is decorated or not. Guess that is where I spend the most time at huh?
Last year I added a little Fall to my living room and a wreath to my front door. A few years ago I decked out my front porch with fall but I have not had the time this season to do that.
I've noticed that now it takes me all day to do what it used to take me 3 hours to do! Anyone else feeling me here?
It seems that this time of the year throughout the end of December is so very busy for everyone. Of course as a friend reminded recently, "Everyone is busy all the time but we all take the time to do what is really important to us". That my friends is so very true.
In light of what happened in Vegas may we simply be THANKFUL for each day the Lord gives us.
I hope that you all have a wonderful week and enjoy the FALL...even if your temps are HOT.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Thankful indeed for safety and home.
ReplyDeleteYour fall decorations are very pretty, Cindy!
Thanks Stacey.
DeleteIf we can't have fall outside, we just have fall on the inside!! Yep, everthing fall at my house until you step outside...that's okay, when you live in the south that's just the way it is. Your fall 'goodies' are so pretty, love that tablesetting, I'll be right over for some lunch and pumpkin spice coffee!!
ReplyDeleteI wish you could come right on over Miss Mary. I would whip us up some lunch, Pumpkin pie and spiced coffee!
DeleteCindy, love the table setting. Such rich and bold colors. I have managed to put out a scarecrow, a few pumpkins and some mums on my front porch. I did put out a pumpkin cookie jar in the kitchen. That's about all I will probably do this year. I am with you on "taking all day to do something". Maybe that's why I don't have out a lot for seasons these days. LOL! I am not a fan of eating anything with pumpkin but I do love apples.
ReplyDeleteConnie Royals
Connie, girl, the fact you have some pumpkins is more than me on the porch! Marty loves apples.
DeleteOh Cindy all your Fall décor is very lovely as are all your dishes.
ReplyDeleteLove the table setting, just gorgeous. I do my Fall and everything inside as I live in a penthouse apartment, lol..
Happy October.
Fabby
Thanks Fabby. I can't wait to see your Fall table.
DeleteI love pumpkin, too..this is a great fall post...
ReplyDeleteThanks BJ. Glad you stopped by.
DeleteWOW...I love your table! Yes, I basically go into the fall with the orange, reds, browns and yellow colors. That is one of the things I really love about FALL....those colors. I love your decorations....great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam. I kept my table simple this Fall but love it.
DeleteLove your Fall decor, Cindy! That little acorn teapot is darling. I decorate with Fall colors, and use my old decorations. I guess I'm not into all the new stuff.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a cup of tea with you, but I'm waiting until you make that pumpkin bread with the caramel glaze!!
Yes, such tragedies in this world, aren't there? I guess that makes the comfort of our homes even more special. One never knows. Love and blessings to you, sweet friend.
Thanks Kitty. I drag out my old decorations too. Each year though I try to add one to my stash. I keep saying that about Christmas decor. I keep dragging out the old and I keep saying I am going to get new stuff! LOL! Yes, I do want to try that bread with the caramel glaze. I know it will be good. I just have to stay home long enough to make it. LOL!
DeleteNow, that Pumpkin Bread with a Caramel Glaze sounds plum sinful! I am going to make some Pumpkin Bread soon and I always add walnuts to mine. I do have touches of fall in the living areas of our house and will add some pilgrims to the mix in Nov. and then before I turn around, it will be time for C'mas to go up. Happy week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lea. I have a pilgrim salt and pepper shaker my daughter Melissa gave to me that I will bring out as well closer to Thanksgiving. Yes, Christmas is right around the corner.
DeleteI want pumpkin everything right now. I hope you make that bread with the glaze and share some photos! Yum!! I have decorated for fall (and I just pulled out the wine glass and acorn salt and pepper shakers from you!!!!!) I use mostly orange, cream and black.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see pictures of your Fall. Glad you are using your little goodies I sent to you last year.
DeleteOh, how pretty everything is here! Fall is my absolute favorite season, too. It just warms my heart. Not much decorating for me this year, as our lives are filled with trials right now, but our hearts are so grateful, in spite of the grief. May the Lord bless you, sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dear Cheryl. Praying for you sweet friend.
DeleteI'm a traditional 'fall colors' gal! Give me all the Oranges and Reds and Yellows! It's cooled down a bit here,so go ahead and make your reservations for Wears Valley maybe the end of October or first of November! 😊 I love how you decorate... and I'm right there with you when it comes to pumpkin spice... and caramel! Prayers for Vegas and all of America... we need to turn back to Jesus and I believe He's giving us a wake up call. 😞 Love you, sweet Friend!
ReplyDeleteI wish we could make a trip to visit you and Jack and enjoy the mountains. We have not been in several years. Seems we have so much else going on these days. I think the Lord has been trying to give a wake up call Deb for some time. It won't be long though till He says, "I've had enough". Time to go get my children. YES to pumpkin spice!
DeleteOh Cindy, your decorations are SO gorgeous...loving that beautiful print table cloth and napkins! Fall decorations are my favorite...even more so than Christmas...can you believe it? We are finally even having fall temps which makes it all the more festive. Yes, your post is a most welcome bright spot amid all the dark news of yesterday. All I can say to this is Jesus, come quickly! Enjoy your week, my friend. ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks Debby. I made that runner and napkins a few years back and decided to use it again this year. I love the bold colors. Glad you are experiencing some fall weather. Yes, Jesus come quickly!
DeleteI am feeling ya, sister, with the taking all day to do something! I have put some Fall out but not my front porch yet....if you walk up to my house it says "Summer!!". I love your traditional Fall colors in your decorating. It's how it should be!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann Marie. Girl, I am getting slower and slower! And I have been noticing that my I so easily distracted these days! LOL!

ReplyDeleteThanks so much. How sweet of you to to decorate your daughterinlaw's home. Good to see you today.
DeleteBeautiful pictures and a beautiful colours. Have a Happy day. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sandra.
DeleteOh, Cindy, you are making me want pumpkin everything! The only pumpkin I have had was a pumpkin yougurt and that doesn't count. Yes, I probably could eat the whole pie myself, too. I am taking longer to do things now, also. My to do lists don't get as much marker off in a day now!
ReplyDeleteLove your fall tablescape and your fall decorative touches you shared. I bought a few pumpkins this weekend and plan to get my other fall decor out this week. We have been out of town and it just hasn't gotten done. I spent most of the day in the garden working today. It was too glorious to stay inside and there was so much to do I didn't finish but glad I worked. I did accomplish some things I had been putting off.
I love your blue and white canisters! So pretty.
Thanks Bonnie. I need to re-pot some things that I have growing but haven't had the time. I haven't been home long enough as of late to get anything done. I doubt I do any more fall except I do plan to get a fall wreath on my front door. About the time we get it all up and done then it's time for Christmas. I have enjoyed the pictures of your garden. I do not know how you hold out to keep all that beauty up!
DeleteOrange is not my favorite color but I like all the fall colors put together. Your fall decorating looks very nice. I don't care for pumpkin pie but some of those other things sound tempting! For instance the addition of caramel and chocolate chips! LOL Nancy
ReplyDeleteNancy, Caramel and chocolate chips HEALS I do believe! LOL! Glad you stopped by.
DeleteCindy, I love fall and the pumpkin bread with caramel glaze would be so good! Blessings and hugs!
ReplyDeleteI am going to try and make that bread before long....

DeleteThe acorn teapot is adorable! I busted out my orange teawares after Labour Day. I also go pumpkin spice crazy during this time of year. Did you know that Lindt has pumpkin spice chocolate? I've resisted so far, but I may break down and treat myself this weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Pumpkin Spice chocolate? Oh I may not be as disciplined as you girl. LOL!
DeleteI love all of your fall decor! My boys helped me put up some things a week or so ago. The leaves are at their peak here right now and are very pretty. Next weekend is my birthday and I hope they hold out for that...I hate once they're gone and everything is BROWN. Yuck. It kinda dampens my mood. I have yet to put up Halloween decor, but I know the kids will hold me to it! Enjoy your weekend, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you sweet girl. I do hope that you have a wonderful birthday as I know you will. Oh I know you are enjoying the beautiful color of the leaves right now. I would love to see the leaves changing. I hope you have a great weekend.
DeleteSuch a pretty tablescape!! Beautiful pieces!! It was in the 80's here today. 15 degrees above normal. I too am looking for Fall!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by!!
Hugs,
Deb
Thanks Debbie. Glad you stopped by.
DeleteI am ready for Fall, Cindy. It is actually getting a little cooler here making it fun to work in the garden. I love your Fall decor and you are making me hungry talking all about that fall food, lol.... Christine
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine.
DeleteI was in the woods at deer hunting camp without internet access when you posted this one. I love what you've done for Fall. No, I have not decorated for Fall. There's been too much going on in my life and with being away in the woods for a week I haven't caught up yet. I plan to get the Fall decorations out and get busy soon. You've inspired me to get myself going in that direction!
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
I hope you enjoyed your time in the woods. Get some Fall out now! LOL!
