Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
My sunflowers are beginning to bloom and oh I love them. This is my third year of growing a few sunflowers. They are in memory of my motherinlove who loved sunflowers and went home to be with the Lord three years ago. I know she is smiling.
Our weekend kicked off last Thursday with our annual town Homecoming parade. I snapped a few pictures with cell phone. Of course I had to you know since I had grands walking in the parade.
Our weekend kicked off last Thursday with our annual town Homecoming parade. I snapped a few pictures with cell phone. Of course I had to you know since I had grands walking in the parade.
Next on the list for the weekend was our annual Conner Family Fall Party at my fatherinlove's home.
I made too many pictures as always so grouped them up so I could share some with you. YEP, still picture overload.
I made too many pictures as always so grouped them up so I could share some with you. YEP, still picture overload.
We always begin our fall party with asking the Lord to bless our time of fellowship and then the fun begins.
We have chili, hot dogs, chips, and desserts galore! And of course LOTS of candy. Sugar overload is an understatement!
Those who want to dress up do and it's so much fun to see what everyone comes dressed like, especially the kids.
Of course the adults do a pretty good job at dressing up too!
We do all kinds of games for the kids.
From bobbing for apples to GO FISH in the fishing pond.
Dart game with balloons to who can knock all the cans down.
Picking up pennies with your toes to toss the ball into the pumpkin.
We have enough games planned that it keeps the little ones busy......
We even had a dance night for the kids. We had them to do that at the end of the party in hopes they would DANCE off some of that sugar!
It don't get any better than funnel cakes and carving pumpkins!
Our family has such a good time with our Fall party. Well, actually, we have a good time at most anything we do. LOL!
My fatherinlove amazes us all. He is always up for some fun and never waivers at anything we want to do. We love it!
And to top it off.....My Georgia Bulldogs pulled it off against the Florida Gators in college football.. Yes, I am a Florida gal but I have a Georgia Heart.
Speaking of a new spice....well, most of you know I love trying new spices. While doing a little shopping on a hunting trip (yes I did hunt but had some time to shop a little too) hee-hee, I found this Spice called Montana Mex Sweet Salt. So I bought one for myself and one for a friend as she loves to use different spices too. I read up on it and it said it was good for anything from popcorn to chicken. Well, I used it in a Baked Chicken dish along with other spices that I hope to share the recipe with you soon. VERY GOOD! Just so you know, it gives popcorn a little salt and sweet taste too. Love this new spice!
I hope that you all have a safe holiday and enjoy your week, enjoy your family. Remember
IT'S THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE THAT BRING THE GREATEST PLEASURES!
Next week I will be sharing about the Tea cup/mug exchange! It was so much fun!
Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Hi Cindy! Girl, your family is the bomb! I love that whole idea of a fall party, and bobbing for apples is something I haven't done since childhood. So great! And who doesn't love funnel cakes? It's my favorite 'go-to' treat at a fair. You made them yourselves? Maybe you could share that recipe here sometime. I'd love it :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got some shopping time along with hunting. It's just a different form of hunting, right? And you bagged a new spice, how cool is that??
I so enjoyed all your photos, and that Jelly Belly costume is so cute. I picked you out right away too!
Happy Fall and Halloween to you and yours,
Ceil
My BIL made the funnel cakes for us. He makes them for our church events a lot as well. It's always a hit. I have no clue what his recipe is though. I think he buys it premixed in a bag. Yes, the Jelly Bean costume was too cute. We do have lots of fun at our little gatherings Ceil. We are so very blessed to have our family so close and can do these type of things together.
DeleteI told Mark that I thought I heard you say, "Go DAWGS" on Saturday! Cindy, the party looks like so much fun and I am sure those kids enjoyed every single moment of it. I love it that you all dress up. Tonight would be a good night for chili. Did you have leftovers?
ReplyDeleteConnie Royals
That was probably me you heard for sure. LOL! It was nice to see my Ga team win again for a change against Florida. But truth is Connie, it's just a ball game at the end of the night. We love dressing up for our Fall party. I am already thinking of what I can be next year. LOL! Yes, we had chili leftover. I made it so I got to carry my leftovers home. Guess what's for supper tonight?
DeleteYou can never take too many pictures for me of that fun-loving, beautiful family of yours. Love it how you all get dressed up and participate. Bet those grandchildren relish every minute with you! Thx for the tip on the sweet salt. I love popcorn and think that would be outstanding! Have a lovely week. Hugs and bless you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary. I love popcorn too. Love munching on it while watching Hallmark movies. A girly thing I guess. Yes the kids love it. Better than a carnival!
DeleteLawdy, we ain't discussing the football game (rolling eyes and giggles) I'm just glad Fl. Fired him. Anyways, y'all are just too darn cute and I love that Jelly Belly costume. Smiles.
ReplyDeleteLOL Linda! Well, you never know about a football game but dang it was time Ga done something. Yes, that Jelly Bean costume was so cute. My SIL came up with a really cute idea with that.
DeleteThat party looks like so much fun! I love that it's a family tradition now! All of your costumes were fantastic! You were such a cute cheetah!! All of the food looked delicious too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather. But I see you having tons of fun celebrating your girl's birthday!

ReplyDeleteMiss Mary you know our bunch has fun. Yes, I will need to share that recipe. But I made it up which I am bad to do. LOL!
DeleteOh what fun! You are all so cute and everybody’s costumes look so nice. Christine
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time was had by all! Cute costumes!
ReplyDeleteWe did have a great time Monica.
DeleteCindy, What an awesome party. I am in love with that sweet little Dorothy....adorable. Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteThat sweet little Dorothy is the sweetest baby ever. We love her to pieces. She our youngest grand for the time being. Her mama, my daughter, is expecting again. Thanks Susie.
DeleteAll of your costumes are so cute! It looks like a blast!
ReplyDeleteWe did Stacey. So much fun.
DeleteOh my word, Cindy, how much fun is that? You and your entire family sure know how to have a ball! Those pics made me smile from ear to ear!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gathering. And everyone looks so festive and adorable.
Thanks for sharing - such a neat thing to see. ♥
Thanks Michele. Living in a society that fewer and fewer families make time for anything, we are surely blessed.
DeleteYour family ALWAYS has fun...thank you for sharing the good times with us. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Dianna.
DeleteI love to see your family having a fun time, Cindy!!! You all look so darn cute in your costumes, and your fatherinlove is absolutely adorable. The food, games, and treats all sound fabulous. Happy Halloween, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kitty. Wish you could bring Cissy to join us for our parties. She would love it!
DeleteYour fall party looks like a blast! I especially like the creative Jelly Belly costume and the cute Dorothy and Scarecrow. I must admit that I'm not feeling the Halloween spirit this year. In the past, I would dress up in a costume at work, but tomorrow I'm just gonna wear a small purple witch hat/headband.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margie. That was my SIL in the Jelly Bean costume. It was creative and way too cute. That scarecrow and little Dorothy are mine you know. LOL! I hope you are feeling better today dear Margie.
DeleteCindy its been a while since I visited you and I'm so sorry with the move and all. I see you are still up to your usual tricks and having fun with the family. What a great way to have a fall party. Those little ones are the center of attention but your father-in-law is giving them a run for their money.
ReplyDeleteI knew you had been busy lady. Now you see why I only blog once a week. Yes, we had a great time and my FIL always has fun with us. We won't let him do any differently. LOL!
DeleteWhat fun! You look adorable. It's amazing all the games you came up with for the kiddos... I'm so not creative like that. Happy Reformation Day, sweet Friend! 💜
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb. Happy Reformation Day to you. Our Pastor just preached on that. Loved the sermon but I wonder how many people truly get it!!! Hugs to you my friend.
DeleteYour family Fall party looks like such fun!! All those , games, costumes and FOOD!! What great memories you all created! I'm really interested in that spice, Lady, it's MONTANA Mex and you know my boy lives in Montana! LOL! J loves to try different rubs and spice combinations on our food when he grills so we'll keep our eyes open for this one. Our son-in-law harvested the family's first deer last weekend. Bow season is open here now in MO. It was a great buck! Wishing you a happy week, Cindy! Zenda
ReplyDeleteI am so excited about the nice Buck your SIL harvested. Way to go! I am biting at the bits to get back in a tree stand but looks like it might be a few weeks before I can get back. But then almost my whole family is going for the weekend but I'm taking off some time and will be gone for 5 days so I am counting down. I tried the Montana Mex on chicken and popcorn and enjoyed it. Glad you stopped by Zenda.
DeleteLove all your pictures of a sweet family having fun together! You are very blessed to have that. Your costume is cute...meow!! Thanks for sharing all the fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann Marie. When I count my blessings, which is often, you can bet my family is at the top of the list.
DeleteWhat a neat party your family had! Love your costume. You look so cute.
ReplyDeleteI was so excited to read about your new grand baby on the way.
We are back from El Salvador and I am trying to catch up. I've got to get out and buy some candy for tonight. Know you will enjoy your grands. Wish I could eat all the candy without guilt. Have a great week.
Thanks Bonnie. I wondered had you returned fro, El Salvador. I hope you will share with pictures soon. I met the sweetest couple from there when I went to Nicaragua on a mission trip. Glad you back safe and sound.
DeleteHi Cindy, what fun you all had at your family party. Love the pics and all the fun creative costumes. Making memories and enjoying the season. That’s what it’s all about. Happy Halloween. Hugs, xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you sweet lady. I am off now to enjoy a fun party with one of the grands. It just keeps getting better and better.
DeleteYour family certainly knows how to enjoy themselves...what a fun time that must have been and what great costumes! The newly discovered spice sounds awesome! I wonder how it would be on venison??
ReplyDeleteOOH, I may have to try new spice on deer meat Debby! YUM!
DeleteWhat a happy, fun post!!! I loved visiting with you today, as always. :) You look adorable in your costume, and it looks like all of you had a blast! What a sweet thing for your father-in-love to do for all of you. He must be an amazing man with a huge heart! God bless you and your dear family, sweet friend. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you stopped by. My FIL is an amazing man. He has to be to keep up with all of us! LOL!
DeleteYour family sure knows how to have a bunch of fun! So nice that everyone works together to put on such a fun time for everyone! Having these special family memories is the best! Hugs to you today :)
ReplyDeleteIt takes team effort to pull off anything that is worthwhile. I am so thankful that we can all work together in some way or another to make it happen. We do have a great time.
DeleteSunflowers...I love them! I have only grown them by mistake when the seeds got dropped from the birdfeeder to the ground, but I plan on having some next yr. My brother grows the BIG ones so my mom grabbed some seeds from it. Looks like you have been having a lot of fun and adventure recently! Halloween is over and the HOLIDAYS are upon us! Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteYes, the Holiday season has begun. 7 weeks before Christmas! Oh my! I had a time with worms wanting to get in my sunflowers this year. First time I had that problem. I think we caught them early though. I have a different colors and sizes this year. Just a couple of short rows but enough that I enjoy. Happy November.
DeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteWOW!! Looks like such a great time!!! Unbelievable!! Thanks so muchf or stopping by!!

ReplyDeleteAwe, thanks Josie. You are so sweet.
DeleteWell I'm a little late to the party, but WOW! I'm amazed at all the fun stuff you had planned for the day! You are the best looking family ever Cindy ;) and it looks like everyone just enjoys the day and each other's company so well. What a fun thing to do. Love the long table with pumpkin carving. Have a wonderful week ahead!
ReplyDeleteWendy
Thanks Wendy. Well It wasn't just me. The whole family has a part in this yearly event. It takes a village but then we have a village. LOL!
DeleteOlá, uma famÃlia feliz e divertida. Momentos que serão recordados por todos e para sempre. Boa semana. Abraço.
ReplyDeleteSandra, I forgot to translate your comment in English! LOL! But thank you!
DeleteCindy, I read your fun post and was sure I commented but it doesn’t show up! Sometimes these devices are impossible!
ReplyDeleteLOL Pam, I have been having all sorts of computer issues recently. They have a mind of their own.
