{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{Homecoming, Fall Party and a New Spice}

My sunflowers are beginning to bloom and oh I love them. This is my third year of growing a few sunflowers. They are in memory of my motherinlove who loved sunflowers and went home to be with the Lord three years ago. I know she is smiling.

Our weekend kicked off last Thursday with our annual town Homecoming parade. I snapped a few pictures with cell phone. Of course I had to you know since I had grands walking in the parade.

Next on the list for the weekend was our annual Conner Family Fall Party at my fatherinlove's home.
I made too many pictures as always so grouped them up so I could share some with you. YEP, still picture overload.

We always begin our fall party with asking the Lord to bless our time of fellowship and then the fun begins.

We have chili, hot dogs, chips, and desserts galore! And of course LOTS of candy. Sugar overload is an understatement!

Those who want to dress up do and it's so much fun to see what everyone comes dressed like, especially the kids.

Of course the adults do a pretty good job at dressing up too!

We do all kinds of games for the kids.

From bobbing for apples to GO FISH in the fishing pond.

Dart game with balloons to who can knock all the cans down.

Picking up pennies with your toes to toss the ball into the pumpkin.

We have enough games planned that it keeps the little ones busy......

 We even had a dance night for the kids. We had them to do that at the end of the party in hopes they would DANCE off some of that sugar!

It don't get any better than funnel cakes and carving pumpkins!

Our family has such a good time with our Fall party. Well, actually, we have a good time at most anything we do. LOL!

My fatherinlove amazes us all. He is always up for some fun and never waivers at anything we want to do. We love it!

And to top it off.....My Georgia Bulldogs pulled it off against the Florida Gators in college football.. Yes, I am a Florida gal but I have a Georgia Heart.

Speaking of a new spice....well, most of you know I love trying new spices. While doing a little shopping on a hunting trip (yes I did hunt but had some time to shop a little too) hee-hee, I found this Spice called Montana Mex Sweet Salt. So I bought one for myself and one for a friend as she loves to use different spices too. I read up on it and it said it was good for anything from popcorn to chicken. Well, I used it in a Baked Chicken dish along with other spices that I hope to share the recipe with you soon. VERY GOOD! Just so you know, it gives popcorn a little salt and sweet taste too. Love this new spice!

I hope that you all have a safe holiday and enjoy your week, enjoy your family.   Remember

IT'S THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE THAT BRING THE GREATEST PLEASURES!

Next week I will be sharing about the Tea cup/mug exchange! It was so much fun!

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. Hi Cindy! Girl, your family is the bomb! I love that whole idea of a fall party, and bobbing for apples is something I haven't done since childhood. So great! And who doesn't love funnel cakes? It's my favorite 'go-to' treat at a fair. You made them yourselves? Maybe you could share that recipe here sometime. I'd love it :)
    I'm so glad you got some shopping time along with hunting. It's just a different form of hunting, right? And you bagged a new spice, how cool is that??

    I so enjoyed all your photos, and that Jelly Belly costume is so cute. I picked you out right away too!
    Happy Fall and Halloween to you and yours,

    1. My BIL made the funnel cakes for us. He makes them for our church events a lot as well. It's always a hit. I have no clue what his recipe is though. I think he buys it premixed in a bag. Yes, the Jelly Bean costume was too cute. We do have lots of fun at our little gatherings Ceil. We are so very blessed to have our family so close and can do these type of things together.

We love dressing up for our Fall party. I am already thinking of what I can be next year. LOL! Yes, we had chili leftover. I made it so I got to carry my leftovers home. Guess what's for supper tonight?

In the past, I would dress up in a costume at work, but tomorrow I'm just gonna wear a small purple witch hat/headband.

I'm really interested in that spice, Lady, it's MONTANA Mex and you know my boy lives in Montana! LOL! J loves to try different rubs and spice combinations on our food when he grills so we'll keep our eyes open for this one. Our son-in-law harvested the family's first deer last weekend. Bow season is open here now in MO. It was a great buck! Wishing you a happy week, Cindy! Zenda

    1. I am so excited about the nice Buck your SIL harvested. Way to go! I am biting at the bits to get back in a tree stand but looks like it might be a few weeks before I can get back. But then almost my whole family is going for the weekend but I'm taking off some time and will be gone for 5 days so I am counting down. I tried the Montana Mex on chicken and popcorn and enjoyed it. Glad you stopped by Zenda.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
