{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

BACK TO REALITY!
Wow, seems that the holidays have almost been a blur to some extent. I had all of my Christmas placed away except for some "After Christmas sales" sitting in a bag in a spare room.  I am one of those women that after Christmas is when I buy all my ribbons, gift boxes, gift tags, gift bags, gift wrap and tissue paper for the next Christmas. It is a great feeling to walk out to my shed and pull out that BOX and BAM...there it is for another Christmas and I don't have to go out and buy it. However, I have everything put up and away and y'all, I miss my Christmas. But...it's time to move on.

I have about decided I need a TEA ROOM! I just love my teapots and teacups and all that girl stuff.

Speaking of TEA look at this darling Tea Set I found at a wonderful thrift store that I found as well. This will be perfect for having a tea party with the grandgirls. I actually found several cute things while browsing around at several thrift stores. I haven't been thrifting in a while so I needed wanted to go. When it's in your blood you just can't help it!

I found this cute basket that you can write on with chalk. I will probably spray paint it but for now it's packed away. I plan to remodel a few things in my kitchen and it will be put to good use. As most know we put in all new granite counter tops which I absolutely love! Well, that is until you drop something that will break because I can assure you whatever drops that's breakable will shatter if dropped hard enough! Several new things went into my kitchen but I have some things I won't to redo. The basket will be perfect for my plan.

I love Biscotti jars. This makes my third one that I have been able to find thrifting. If you know anything about Biscotti jars then you know that you can find some inexpensive ones and you can find some that COST! It's rare that you find one at a Thrift store or a yard sale.

You know what they say, "Someones trash is another person's treasure".

I picked up several cute things. I have really got to start thinking about cleaning out my She-Shed and get rid of some things before long. Y'all might need to pray for me! I have a hard time parting with things! LOL!
I did have a few productive days as well. I had so much fresh dill from my little herbs that I was able to share with a friend that loves herbs like me and freeze some for future use.

My husband and I processed meat one day. Yep, I was one tired lady but as long as my freezer holds out I won't starve! Thankful for the blessings that God has given us to enjoy.

My daughter sent me a picture of this cutie in her new Chef outfit playing with her new kitchen things she got for Christmas. I love the cooking shows about as much as I do the Hallmark shows so we might have a little chef in the family. Who knows? Right?

I shared last week that my new word for 2018 was Hope. The Lord never ceases to amaze me at how He can and will use one little word to minister to us or allow us to use that one word to minister to another.  Speaking of the word HOPE I humbly ask that you would take just a minute to list up my BIL & SIL (Mike and Lisa) to our Lord I would appreciate it. On Friday of last week they lost their home to a fire. Everyone is safe and the Lord is already blessing. My husband and I have experienced this tragedy and it is a like dealing with a death. So many emotions and so many more to come.

I don't know a whole lot but I know this, OUR HOPE is in Christ and Christ alone. And oh yes, His mercies are new every morning.

Wishing you all a great week as I leave you with with this...just some words that you might need to hear today for whatever reason.

If we do what is right, then God will take care of whatever is wrong.
No matter what the wrong is or who is doing the wrong. No matter whether that wrong is done in words, deeds or thoughts.
Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of the home of your family members. This hurts my heart so bad. I feel just like you, I don't know much either, but I know the Lord is the only way to cope and thrive in this world of ours. Your little grand is too cute! My Mom and Dad used to process their meat too. My Dad was an avid Deer and Elk Hunter. It's such a neat thing to be!

  2. Hi Cindy! I will keep them in my prayers for sure, what a horrible thing. I'm very glad that no one was hurt, that is the main thing. And you have been through that too? I know your experience with handing everything from insurance claims to salvaging will come in like a balm to their hearts.
    My Christmas things are still up. I have a friend who wants to see the decorations because she had surgery before Christmas and didn't really get a chance to decorate herself. I don't mind, I love the stuff!
    Best of luck on your resale shopping!

(Electrical issues) My SIS says to this day that it still makes her shiver to think about it. Enjoyed your pictures. You and your man are going to be eating high on the hog...(well deer) LOL! Cute picture of that little chef.

  5. What a tragedy to lose one's home! I will pray for your family members as well.
    Aren't you the smart one to shop after Christmas? We don't generally go near the stores after Christmas for bargains because the stores are crazy and neither of us like crowds. There isn't much left anyway so we don't bother. We did however get ourselves a new pre-lit tree last week and it was a good buy. Looking forward to putting it up next year! Your biscotti jar is really cute and so is the tea set. I like your new word for 2018. HOPE is a beautiful word because we know our hope is in the Lord Jesus. No matter the circumstance, He will see us through. Blessings and Happy New Year, Cindy!

    1. Thank you Sandi . Our hope is for sure in the Lord . People without hope will parish. I didn’t go right after Christmas either . I waited til the crowds died down . Then most things are picked over . But i do love when i can get all my wrapping stuff bought for a little bit of money, like 70-90% off . It sure helps out with the next Christmas . Happy new year dear Sandi .

But, I do love to window shop, and once in a great while, if I find something I really, really love, I will buy it. I totally know how you feel about not wanting to let things go...oh, the tears I have cried while going through this purging process! I have learned NOT to let go of things that really mean so much to me, and God is faithful to reveal what a person will regret letting go of. It is a process, that is for sure. I love visiting with you, sweet friend. We have so much in common, and I pray God blesses you and your dear family in this new year!

We were just talking about this today. I am so tired of not being able to find any decent veggies. And if you do find some veggies, they are wilted, and just plain yucky. How are you supposed to eat healthy in January?? lol

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
