{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{Anything Goes Monday}

YUP....It's Monday again! Hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. I actually enjoyed a weekend away with my man to do a little bow hunting. I was so thankful my dang old arthritic neck was better so I could go. Nothing like being in the outdoors admiring the beautiful creation that God has designed. And, I did get a little rest too. Rest is good. Sometimes we ADULTS just have to give ourselves permission to REST, right?

YES HE DOES!

YEP....I'm one of those old gals that you call a Huntress! I think sometimes I love it better than my man does. Or....maybe I like the going out to eat part....the shopping part....or the simply doing nothing part! LOL!

Now lets have a little fun together and answer a few questions...and while we do I want to share a few random pictures with my friends today.

Web Image

 Are you a coffee drinker?  If so, when is the last time you shared a cup of coffee with a friend?

I realized that I had not shown you our newest girl in a while. Can you believe she is already 4 months old? Her smile lights up the room.

Web Image

Do you enjoy music? If so, what kind?

This grandgirl had a day at school called "Bring your dad to school". Her daddy had to work so Papa was to the rescue. It sure blesses my heart to see grandparent's involved in the lives of their grandchildren.

I saw this recently on one of my friends blog and it totally cracked me up and how very true. What is something that you really like about Walmart or dislike about Walmart?
No intentions here to SLAM Walmart as we all have our likes and dislikes and let's face it....some people wouldn't be happy if the store was called "Jesus loves you" store!

Just sharing my "Lady Linda" teacup again. She is just perfect for Fall. I must say that last Fall I enjoyed many cups of coffee and hot tea with her. This year she sits on my mantle for decor.

What is your favorite candy to indulge in?
I think you know my answer by my picture. Hee-hee.

Now my answers:
COFFEE: Yes, I enjoy coffee and I actually had a sweet friend bring me a cup of Starbucks to my office and we took a little time and sat in the sun room that I NEVER get to sit in unless I am ministering to someone and enjoyed a cup of coffee and a little sweet fellowship.

MUSIC: Yes, I love music and a good variety of music as well. I always have though. Whether it be the oldies but goodies, motown, country, blues or gospel, I enjoy music.

WALMART: What I like about Walmart thus far is that they are very good to take something back without giving you a hassle. Or least that has been my experience so far. What I dislike about Walmart is having 50 people ready to check out and they have two lanes open! OH MY!

CANDY: Yep you saw the picture.

I do hope that you all have a great week and remember to enjoy the little things in life....

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. Your newest Precious is adorable and so sweet. I missed GLOW last week, so it's been a couple of weeks since I've shared a cup with a friend. I miss it but I'll catch up! Wish you were close, I'd come have a cup with you!! Music, since Mr D is a musician and plays country, I have to say country! OLD country. I love most all music, I listen to gospel a lot. Walmart, the good is it has a lot of merchandise, the bad, it also has a lot of people! Don't like being crowded when I shop and don't like the long checkout lines. Favorite candy, do I have to choose just one? Has to be a Snickers bar, among many others. Good to hear you're feeling better, hugs and blessings to you!

    1. Miss mary, Marty loves Snicker bars too! I bet you do get to hear lots of music with Mr. D being a musician. I would love to hear him play. I like the old country too.

  2. Thanks for answering all of those fun questions! I love the prices at Walmart but not the lines. I like Reeses too! I'm glad your neck was feeling better. Your youngest grandgirl is getting so big and is just as adorable as the rest of them. How cute about Papa going to school too! Have a great week Cindy-loo!

  3. Oh, mercy, your grandgirl is gorgeous! She's grown so much since the last foto you shared! I'm so glad you and Mr. Marty got to get away. I'm very much in need of a getaway!!! Here's my answers....

    COFFEE: I do like coffee, but only have it first thing in the morning. The only sharing I do is with the grand kiddos because they all want a "sip" of Nannie's coffee!

    MUSIC: I love music and how it ministers to me in such a special way. If I hear songs from my teenage years I seem to be able to go back in time to even the feelings I had at a particular time. Music is magical!

    WALMART: I love Walmart! I don't think I even have any complaints.

    CANDY: I'm a sweet-aholic, so most candies are just fine with me. I do prefer dark chocolate, though.

    So glad you're feeling better, my Friend. Take care of yourself! <3

  4. Oh, my Hubby only wished years ago that I would be a Huntress but I cannot even imagine it for me. I have no interest in sitting still, being quite, leaving at dark and often times freezing too death. I'm impressed that you enjoy it.

    That little girl has gotten so big, she is so adorable.

    Enjoyable post, happy new week!

    1. I was raised in hunting and married into hunting. When we first began Still hunting I just could not imagine sitting in a stand and being quiet and still. I was so used to the fast pace of hunting with dogs. But I began to absolutely love it. I think with age that helped. I love the quietness. Me and the Lord has surely had many of conversations while I sit in a stand. The being still part is my problem! LOL!

  5. I'm so glad that your neck allowed you to get away with your sweetie!! it sounded like you had a great time. Your newest grand is such a doll baby...ooh I could squeeze her! My youngest son fixed me a latte when I went there for breakfast recently. He even makes a pretty design on the top (I need to take a picture!). My favorite candy...so many, Cindy...I do love Charleston Chews, though. My Wal Mart is so BIG, that it's hard to shop. As for music, I love all kinds...oldies, current hits, and some country. Happy first week of October, my friend. xx

  6. Dear Cindy, I’m so glad you’re feeling better! Your granddaughter is growing fast as is our little Jack. You mentioned sharing a cup of coffee with a friend in a spot you normally minister to others and I thought, well, that friend had the opportunity to minister to you!! What a blessing to have friends who do little loving things!!

    Coffee: Our town now has two coffee houses and they are great places for us to meet for lunch, work on club committees or have Bible study. A bonus is when you go to meet a friend there, you’ll usually run into another friend or two!!

    Music: I love Pandora Radio! I have it set on Jim Brickman-style which is instrumental music. It’s so soothing - great for cooking, sewing or gardening! I also enjoy listing to Podcasts on British and American History and, of course, Decorating.

    Walmart: I agree, their return policy is great. In January, our local stores tried a scan-and-go policy where you could scan your own items with a scan gun, go through the quick checkout and be on your way. It was terrific, but unfortunately, didn’t work out and was discontinued. The quick checkout areas were expanded and regular checkout lanes decreased at that time. Now we also have LONG lines. :/

    Candy: plain Hershey’s candy bar! Pure chocolate is perfect by itself!

    Have a great week, dear friend! Zenda

  7. What a fun post, my friend. OK...my answers are:

    I have one cup of coffee in the morning and that is pretty much it...if I go out with a friend for coffee there has to be a dessert in it for me!

    I grew up singing with a musical family and don't recall a time when I wasn't doing so. I enjoy many forms of it but my tastes have changed over the years somewhat. I still love the oldies including 70's and some 80's (no hard rock, please) old country (not the new), bluegrass is among my faves, contemporary Christian and Praise & Worship, and even Irish celtic sometimes. :)

    Walmart? As much as it aggravates me to go, you will still find me there weekly but only early in the morning...like you said, too many shoppers without enough help. Walmart has us all over a barrel, huh?

    Candy? Although I love any kind of chocolate, one of my all time favorites are Sweetarts...or Jolly Ranchers...or Star Burst...or anything sour!

    So...any luck with the bow??

    ReplyDelete

    1. I would love to hear you sing! Oh I have always loved Sweetarts too. Marty and I enjoy Irish celtic too. He mainly likes to hear the instruments but I love the singing. NOPE...no hard rock for me either. Dang....gives me a headache and I already have a neckache. LOL! Nothing with the bow. Marty did get one a few weeks ago with his bow. But we will be going back.

  8. What a fun post, sweet friend! Coffee is amazing ~ I LOVE coffee and enjoy it nearly every day with some half & half and Trim Healthy Mama Gentle Sweet. Music is something that runs through my blood ~ I come from a very musical family, LOVE to sing and play the guitar, and bluegrass, Southern Gospel, & Contemporary Christian are my favorites. I like Walmart for their convenience and being able to find most things under one roof ~ I love that they celebrate Christmas and are so supportive of using the word Christmas throughout their stores and advertising. We are continually minimizing so I have to be careful not to fall into the consumerism marketing traps while shopping in Walmart for what we need. I love candy, but avoid white refined sugar so if I eat any, it is usually sugar-free and very rarely. God bless you with a wonderful day!

    1. Oh I know you love music for sure Cheryl. I do love it too. My oldest granddaughter plays the piano, electric guitar, regular guitar and sings. Blesses me so. My grandson can play some guitar and drums. I do good to play the radio! LOL! Have a great day dear lady.

  9. Before I get into my answers to your questions I want to thank yucorstoopinf at the blog while I was laying low and house/animal sitting and leaving such a sweet comment. I love painting as you could see but when at home I tend to find other things that need doing. Although it is a hassle dragging all that paint and stuff with me, I get so much done! Now...lovely littlest girl! Just beautiful. Answers- yes, I drink coffee. I am a late in life drinker cause I actually did not start that still I was almost 40. I don’t do black and I prefer a flavor creamer in mine. Coffee with a friend, wow, that has been awhile since most my friends still work and I don’t. I do my coffee generally on the deck with my furbabes. Music....LOVE! I used to do nothing but country but a few yrs back the station I listened to and the cast did some major revamping and I did not like the folks that replaces them...so I found the Hippie station! It’s called that, music from the 50,60 and 70s...right up my alley! However they seemed to play the same thing over and over again, so the. I moved to the Oldies station which plays 70’80and 90s. Not crazy about the 80 or 90s but being raised in the 70s I love that! No country on these last two stations and I hardly ever listen to it that much any more and living in Nashville that might be considered a sin!! Haha. I have a love hate connection with Wally World! I love thei prices but totally hate going there cause the isles are tight, the people just stop wherever, and I always spend way too much. Candy....same as you dear! Whoever came up with choc and peanut butter deserves and award!!!! Have an awesome day. Sorry comment so long...

    1. Love the oldies too Pam. My grandparents loved to listen to country and loved to dance together and was quite good. My Papa actually taught me how to slow dance, jitterbug and square dance. My mom always loved to listen to country music such as Patsy Cline, which I am a huge fan too. Along with Loretta, Jim reeves and a ton more. So I guess I grew up listening to music. LOVE me some oldies though! Yes on the chocolate and peanut butter!!!!

  10. Cindy, I love good coffee. I may not be able to judge the best cup, but I sure know a bad cup when I have it. I had coffee with two of my best friends on Sunday. My daughters. I love all music, from opera to pop...but can not stand the stuff called rap. Walmart...I like that it's economical, I hate that they want you to check yourselves out...next they will want us to help unload the trucks...hire more people. LOL. Chocolate was invented for women. LOL. Love that your hubby help on dad day. He's a hero. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. LOL Susie on the unloading the trucks! I will do the self checkout if I only have one or two things but honestly, I dislike that! It seems I always have a problem with something! Yes, Marty enjoyed carrying the grandgirl to school. He got her breakfast and talked with some of the other kids. She didn't want papa to leave. The youngest grandgirl has some hair for sure. Her older sister did as well and still does. Never lost an ounce of it!

  11. Love that you get to go hunting with "your man". That sounds like fun, although I wouldn't want to actually kill anything...just go along for the joy of being outdoors in the God's beautiful world. I kind of do that already every day in a walk, but not in the woods so much, just beside them. Can't stand ticks...that keeps me from charging through the woods. Don't mind the snakes, bears, whatever else...just can't stand to get ticks on me! Walmart...where would we be without it? Probably in some ways better off...small towns would still be able to have hometown department stores and grocery stores, etc. I know, the prices are higher, but I love shopping in small town stores where people know you and say hello! I love most all "sacred music", in most forms, especially old hymns. I have always enjoyed music of all kinds, but mostly just Christian music now. I am a tea drinker through and through. But I'd be happy to sit down and share a cup of coffee with you, as long as I can have tea! LOL. Candy? Payday! I can't eat a lot of chocolate. But a payday is perfect to me. That's one thing we usually buy at Walmart when we go, and we share it on the way home on our long ride! Glad you are feeling better. Love your sweet little grandbaby girl. Can't believe she is 4 months already! Where has the time gone??? Take care of that neck and stay feeling better!!

I have a link I will send to you by email on a blog that is for those that suffers with arthritis. So resourceful. My SIL loves it as it has given her great tips. Yes I love coffee but limit to mornings only. I do love good old country music but Southern Gospel is my favorite. The only thing I dislike about Walmart is the lines during the holiday season! HIRE MORE HELP! And I love an almond joy but anything with coconut in it is good to me. Now I need to an almond joy!

  13. Fun post Cindy. Your newest grand is sure a cutie!! I'm not a coffee drinker, but I do love my Diet Coke and occasionally tea. I love music. Like you a large variety. Not crazy about rap or really hard rock. I'm a bit of a hypocrite about Wal-mart. I don't love it, but still go there now and then because things are cheaper. As far as Wal Mart goes it is our only place to buy somethings( I live in a small town) so I go but I have learned early in the day is the best time.
    Your grands are so sweet and cute. You are so blessed to have them nearby.
    My youngest grand turned six today. She milked it for all she could. Birthday breakfast, donuts brought to school, supper requests and banana pudding ( her mother called and asked for my recipe) for dessert. She already had cupcakes for her party on the weekend - homemade pound cake ones. Only six and she has it figured out.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
