{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{It's My Birthday and I can Cry if I Want Too}

But, I'm NOT because I am thankful for the life that God gives to me. Whether it be another year, month, day or moment...I am truly grateful.
But turning 60 does have some advantages...

Gotta love Maxine!

My three daughter's surprised me for my birthday. It all started with this pretty red and silver box.

Nestled inside the box was a scroll tied with red ribbon.

Here is a snap shot of my birthday gift from my daughter's and their family. I was so surprised and needless to say excited. My man was excited too because this was a treat for him as well. He was liking my birthday pretty good. LOL!

We had such a wonderful time together.

My oldest daughter and her husband.

My middle daughter and her husband.

My youngest daughter and her husband.

I was greeted with birthday confetti on the table and a card signed by some of the staff. The food was absolutely delicious and my birthday choice of dessert was none other than Crème brûlée

The girls gave me this beautiful necklace with charm. I just love it!

We had a great time and I have surely felt spoiled by my daughter's. They arranged for our family to have family pictures made as well.  Memories made and I love how they turned out. I will share just a few.

I sure have enjoyed my "special day". And all month long too. Us Conner women believe in celebrating all month. LOL! I am glad I could share my special day with you all too. I just wish that we could celebrate together with a slice of cake and a cup of coffee, tea or coke. That would have made it even sweeter. The month isn't over yet either.....I am fixing to be off for 10 days and for 7 of those days me and my man will be on a birthday celebration. I will give you a clue....

Web image

I had someone say to me, "My birthday isn't that big of a deal to me, it's just another day". NAY.....It's a special day......

For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well. Psalm 139:13-14

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1st John 3:1

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Yep, I'd say He loves me pretty good and I am going to celebrate LIFE...Life with my husband, children, grandchildren and friends. Life, as a child of the Living God. And...another year of life to celebrate with those I love the most is worth celebrating. Don't ya think?

I hope that you all have a wonderful week and remember....

  5. Okay...so where are the tissues? I need to wipe my eyes. Cindy, first of all, Happy 60th birthday! Turning 60 is a milestone. In another year I will celebrate 70 and I look forward to it just as much as when I turned 60. Back to you...and your precious family! What very special daughters you have...they have learned well from your example, my friend. The family pictures just really tugged at my heart and made the tears start. The one of you and your husband standing separate from the rest of the family and all of them looking toward you just makes me tear up every time I look at it. That speaks of how they honor and cherish their parents and grandparents. xo

    I love seeing your family!! Fantastic photos! I got a kick out of the photos of your daughters and them posing for the photos with the hands on their hips!!! Happy Belated Birthday!! I learned that age is just a number and some days I feel like 100 years old and some I feel like 16 years old!! You look great!! I admire how you celebrate your birthday. It was always frowned on in my family to make a big deal out of it so I do not....And it seems like I always work on my Birthday any way.... Thanks so much for stopping by and Congrats on your "new" car!! We love ours...

I'd sure love that. Wish I could talk my man into it. He's more of a beach guy...but we haven't done that either in too long. we're becoming regular sticks in the mud! I think I'm gonna start planting some seeds of ideas. Have a great time. Enjoy every minute of it. Life is just too short.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
