{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{It's Getting That Time Again and Simply Curious}

Well, Bow season is around the corner and I am getting ready! Marty and I made a quick over night trip to ride around in the old Georgia pines and it sure gave me an itching to get my camo out. I done a little target practicing with my bow so I am READY...

We stopped by Carroll's Sausage and Country Store on our way home. Reminds me a little of Cracker Barrel with their decor. In which I did have me some breakfast at Cracker Barrel too.

Their specialties there is no doubt their meats but oh do they have tons of other goodies.
Yep, we came home with several goodies.

Since Football is getting started they had these specialty grills to sell. Well, it didn't strike my fancy at all...especially when I saw the price!

Marty thought he needed a snack so he grabbed some meat and cheese sticks. The meat sticks was a tad spicy for me but he loved them.

We did stop and do a little shopping and I found another e.l.f. product I am going to try.

We had a short getaway but a productive one. A Hunter and Huntress knows you have to prepare....LOL!

So, recently there were several of us ladies having a conversation and the subject came up about "whether you make you bed up in the mornings or not" That conversation led us to spilling the beans on our personal "habits" or maybe some would call them "quirks" in our daily routine of what we feel must be or needs to be done before leaving our house for the day. And the truth is...there are NO right or wrong answers...it simply is the way WE DO IT! But I am curious?

Web image

Do you make your bed up every morning?

I was surprised during this conversation that "making the bed up each day" was very low in percentage. Now keep in mind I come from the old school and you had no choice but to make your bed each morning.  It actually wasn't an option. But, it's funny at how things really do "stick" with us from childhood in our adults years because I can remember my granny saying that making her bed each morning always made her feel better about her day. I'm not so sure it has ever made me "feel better about my day" per say....but, It sure makes me feel better to climb in a freshly made bed at night and truthfully, I sorta, kinda, have always felt that it did indeed begin my day of productivity. It sat the tone for me for the rest of the day. Does that make sense?  Even if that day was spent at home, my day had begun by making my bed. That sounds crazy to some I know. Just curious...do you make your bed each morning?If my bed isn't made y'all, it's because I am still in it or sick and will be back in it shortly. Besides that...I am scared my granny would HAUNT me at night if I didn't make my bed. LOL!

And...if you are looking for a new ladies Bible study check PROVEN out. Our ladies just started it last Wednesday night and it is going to be SOOOOO GOOD!

A Florida gal with a Georgia heart...YES I AM!

I hope that you enjoy your week and I'd like to leave you with this.........

"Life is a compilation of many different seasons. Don't be afraid to let go of one season in order to grab hold of the next one".

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

I keep telling all the kids, it only takes a few days to make something a habit. So make some good habits. 15. Yes, I do make my bed every morning...My mother made sure we did before we even had breakfast. And on school days, to give us a little incentive, I would get an extra nickel with my lunch money if I made my bed so I could by a fudgesickle ice cream after lunch. Those were the good old days for sure. Ice cream bar for a nickel! Anyway, the only day it doesn't get made is when I strip the bed to wash the sheets, but then it gets made as soon as they are clean. I say it is good to let the bed air out for a spell. I hope you have a great time with your hubby going bow hunting. Sounds like so much fun. And you have so much energy...I don't know where you go saying I have energy when you are the one to try and hold down for a second! LOL. That place you ate at sure looks good. Is that in GA or FLA? Looks very inviting. Okay, speaking of beds...it's that time again...not to make it, but to get in it and get to bed...another long tiring day. and no vitamins yet. LOL. Good night!!

    1. Ice cream for a nickle...you are right...good old days. I can remember buying a coke out of the coke machine at school for 10 cents! CRAZY! We ate at Cracker Barrel Pam but that store sold all kinds of things such as meats, cheeses, spices and well, you name it and they had it. But it sure reminded me a little of the decor at Cracker Barrel. Speaking of energy Pam, I was just thinking at how my granny at my age could work circles around me and I look back and wonder...HOW did she have so much energy. Not sure about her but I surely lack in that department at times so one more good reason to stay active, take those daily vitamins and try to get a little exercise weekly. But...if this dang weather would get cooler I would pile up in my chair in pj's all day and watch Christmas movies with a blanket and cup of coffee! LOL!

    1. Nancy, we just kicked off with this new study last Wednesday so tonight is actually our first lesson for this 8 week class. It looks really good. Simple but packed with the Word of God. Nancy, I can understand that chronic fatigue can make one pick and choose what they must do and what they want to do and in that case girl...bed making wouldn't be on my list. Being someone that has suffered with chronic arthritis in the neck for almost a year now has surely given me a WHOLE new sympathy level for those that suffer in any way with anything chronic. SO girl....DON'T MAKE THAT BED if you don't feel like it! Hugs to you Nancy.

  17. You are such fun...camouflage and all! Now what is that E.L.F. product? I know ELF as a cosmetic, but I want to eat those things!

    I adhere to my grandmother’s teaching on bed making. 1. When out of the bed, fold back the linens. 2. Return after breakfast to actually make the bed. On the rare day when I forget or get busy, I must make the bed before I get in even if it will be five minutes. Isn’t it funny about old habits? I do not quite understand how people feel comfortable in an crumpled bed. Oh well, to each her own!

    1. Yes it is funny about old habits. At least bed making is a good one. LOL! This particular elf product I thought was more like a little highlighter, but I honestly have found it to be more of a "setting powder". This one was neutral. I haven't been impressed to be honest. But, then I already use a setting spray. And I go to swirl my brush around in those pearls and they come out of that jar onto the floor and well...had me bout a mess of those! LOL! YEP, they do look edible don't they? Ha!

  20. I tell you the truth, it makes me feel so much better and at peace once the bed is made. You and I are from the old school, and it was not an option of making the bed. Mom kept a house so clean and neat, you could eat off our floor, and not making my bed was just something that was expected on a daily basis before I left my room. I do find that if my husband and I make our bed before we leave our room, it is less likely to not get made! I hate the feeling of clutter, so if it doesn't get made for some reason, it always makes me feel a little "off" when I walk back in our room later in the day. I know, I'm weird. Growing up in the 70's made me that way, I guess! Love and hugs to you, sweet friend. :)

  22. I can't believe I read this right after you posted and forgot to comment! Too much on my mind, I guess! Jim and I absolutely love those old general stores...so many great things in them. You look so adorable in your pink camo, girly! I can tell you are ready to get out there and get you one! OK...so I am going to break the rules here a bit...most of my married life, Jim has worked nights and slept during the day. Do you know how hard it is to make up a bed that has this big "lump" in the middle of it? My mama always made her bed and as a girl, I did too. There is something about walking into a bedroom with a nice, neat bed and that's the way I prefer it, most definitely! When we move into our little "glamper", I will have to make the bed whether I want to our not since the bedroom is right off the living area! As far as the E.L.F. goes, I use the very same product and really like it. I used to get the "beads" from Physician's Formula but then E.L.F came out with them cheaper. You do have to be careful about not letting them little critters getting away from you though! I like that they give a bit of a glow after applying them. Great post! Love & Hugs!

  24. Cindy, I’ve been busy in my garden and kitchen this week and am behind on my reading. Glad you and your man are scoping out your hunting spots. J and the kids do the same here in MO. They have several “places,” thanks to family members and have to decide who is hunting where. (Ha!). Also, J and Andy are planning a trip to elk hunt in a few weeks in Montana. Actually, Andy will hunt (with bow) and J is just going along. They have an outfitter so I’m thinking they will have a good time! And yes, I make my bed every morning! Happy weekend! Zenda

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
