{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{Tried and True and Tibits}

I haven't shared a "tried and true" lately so decided it was time. I enjoy hearing from others about different things they have tried and really like or loved. Of course I am one of those people that REVIEW everything...maybe a little too much, so it's great to see what others have tried and it has proven to be true.

I love a lot of the e.l.f. products and I really like the HD Powder in translucent. I ordered my last one from Amazon as I was ordering several things but you can get e.l.f. products at Walmart. Target usually has a better selection. Depends on where you buy it to the cost but I don't think I have ever paid more than $6 for the powder. I love the light feel of it. It doesn't come with a puff to apply but that doesn't matter to me because I use a brush to apply anyway. It does not make your face shine and the coverage is good enough for me.  It comes in several shades but I use the translucent.

I really like the e.l.f. face primer. My skin is so very dry all year round and especially in colder weather so I need a hydrating primer. It too runs about $6 and I absolutely love the way it feels on my face. It only takes a tad to cover your face and neck. One small bottle last a while.

Now isn't this the cutest pair of tweezers? These cuties came in a small container with mirror and fits in my purse nicely. Makes it easy for those days that you are going somewhere and right before you get out of your car you decide to freshen up your lipstick and you spot a HAIR that appeared out of NO WHERE on your face that NEEDS to be taken care of! Yes, happens to me all the time. I was so blessed cursed to have EXTRA hair growth...Matter of fact it's time for a face wax! I found this at Marshall's and I think it cost around $4.

This gal right here only cost around $20. First, let me say that my hair is thick and has a little body to it so I don't need a whole lot but...my hair is very course (like a horses tail is the only way I can describe it) and if I don't use a curling iron or flat iron to at least run through it once, that hair can get on my last nerve! Since you can use a curling iron as a flat iron too, or at least I can for my hair, I have a feeling this gal right hair will take the place of my other hair tools. I just need to find one like this in a travel size. That's my next quest! But, this cutie gets super hot quick and stays hot! It has a long cord too in which I love. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't automatically shut off. You know....just in case this mind of mine gets cra-cra or something and forgets to cut it off! But I love it! I either got this one at Marshall's or Bealls Outlet.  Best $20 I have spent in a while.

My daughter's gave me this Bath and Body cream and I LOVE IT! Not only does it smell like the beach in which y'all know I love me some beach but it makes your skin feel so good. I'm about out so fixing to buy me some more. My beach days might be over for a while but I can still smell like the beach, right?

 I know I have shared this foundation with you before but it is my favorite foundation. It goes on light but stays on. You can find this product most anywhere like Walgreens or Walmart. It usually runs about $11 at Walmart. It runs a little more than that at Walgreens but when they have a deal like buy one at regular price and get one for half price, I usually jump on it. I like the fact that it goes it on light and yet has really good coverage and stays on.

I have shared about the eye shadow before too but worth a share again. I love this eye shadow. Revlon color stay STAYS. It's a cream base which is GREAT for older women like me that has dry skin and doesn't like that caked on look. It doesn't crease and it stays on. There is a little brush attached to the bottom that slides in and out to apply it on with. They have a great color palate though I tend to gravitate towards the colors I like the best. It depends on where you purchase it to the cost. If I can find the shades I like at Walmart that's where I buy because it is a few bucks cheaper than Walgreen. It's around $6-$7 there and around $8 or so at Walgreen's. Here's the thing y'all, things don't have to cost a fortune in order to be good. Now grant be it, the old saying still goes..."You get what you pay for"  but the truth is, sometimes less is more and if I can find a good product that works for me cheaper...oh yes, I am going to share it with my friends. But, what might work for me might not for you but at least you know my reviews and I am the REVIEW QUEEN!

I hope that you have enjoyed my "Tried and True" today so now I just briefly want to share my "Tidbits" with you. You may remember a while back that I shared in one of my post that our Sunday school class adopted our local Fire/EMS rescue team in our county at the main station. We chose to minister to them in some way or another at least once every two months. We pray for them regular which is by far the most important thing we could do. We have done other things for them but this time decided to stock their kitchen with items they could eat and drink.

Our class took up a collection of all sorts of goodies and those bags were filled to the brim. They were so appreciative and here is the thank you they posted on their facebook page.

You know, we started out wanting to be a blessing to them. Can I say that we are the ones being blessed. There is something about doing for others that can bring you true joy. I am so glad to serve at a church that believes in reaching out to community in some way or another. It's all about having a servant's heart isn't it?

I do hope that you all have a great week and I challenge you this week to think of at least one person that you can be a blessing to this week...then do it!

  2. I love when you do your reviews, Cindy. It always helps to know what our friends think if certain products. Stocking the kitchen for your local Fire/EMS rescue team was so kind of your Sunday school class, and yes, praying for them is the best. Have a wonderful week, sweet friend. 😘

    1. Thanks Benita. Yep, I about fainted when one day I spotted e.l.f. lipstick at the dollar tree! WHAT? Of course it wasn't my color!!!! But seriously, the prices on the e.l.f. are very good and I have had no complaints.

  6. I use the same E.L.F products and love them. I also use the Daily Hydration Moisturizer with purified water, jojoba & vitamin E. I also use the Illuminating Eye cream and the Tone Adjuster primer (purple). I love their products. However, I use Clinique facial wash and toner. I am thinking though, time to change. I like matching things, you know?

    You and your class are blessings to those firemen. My brother is a fire/medic for Lake County-down there by the Villages.

    My hair is thin, I use a 'big barrel' curling iron. You know, sometimes, I just want to hang it all up and go au natural; perish that thought. Don't want to scare anyone, LOLOL.

    Love, love this post my friend. smiles

  7. First of all, so impressed with the love and support from your Sunday School Class!! We all could learn a thing or two from your service and love.
    Secondly, I like that you review items for us because sometimes that's the only way I get to see new products that I "need". Like those tweezers, (and maybe that face shaver,too).

    On a personal side... thank you, my friend. Your prayers are felt and appreciated, more then you know.❤❤❤❤

  10. Honey, I am a blessing everyday!!! HAHA...sorry, I could not help but jump on that one. I never thought about doing a like or dislike sort of blog on things I do or don't like! haha...I just sort throw stuff out there from time to time if I have been disappointed. I have never been one that had to spend a lot of money on make up or clothes, brand names. I find what I like and I go with it. I have also found, like you that cheaper is not always that bad. I do however spend a little more on my mascara. My eyes have always been my best feature so I have always played more with them. Used to do a lot of shadow but with the dropping eyelids it sort of gets hid anyway. Stray hairs, I pluck at brows, chin and neck hairs all the time. But what really surprises me is those ones that SNEAK up on you and you wonder how they got that long OVERNIGHT!

  20. These are great reviews and I thank you for them, Sista! I also like many of the e.l.f. products and you certainly cannot beat the price when purchased at Walmart, especially. I think I am going to look into those eye shadows...I have always steered away from cream shadows for the very reason you mentioned but I sure would like something that makes the "crepey eye" problem to be less visible. What a blessing that you and your church did this outreach to your local fire department/EMS workers. It is more than evident by reading their thank you note how much it meant to them. That really IS what it's all about! Love you, my friend!

    1. Yep, that old crepey eye issue sure hits us quick doesn't it? I do have several dry eye shadows that I like the color but I have to wet my brush and apply the shadow on wet or else it will cake up big time! Even with an eye primer. What happened to the days of NO makeup and your skin just looked good?

You know I am married to a Fire Chief and I know how hard they work and how dedicated they are to keeping the community safe. This is an awesome thank you. I love seeing all your reviews on the products. I am one of those that reads reviews and needs to find out everything I can about a product too. Have a beautiful week ahead.

  22. I spend SO MUCH MONEY on make-up, it's crazy! I have found Elf products and really like them. I have not tried the powder or primer yet. You do not want to know what I spend on those products in another brand. Now that I have your endorsement I have to try them! I may have to try that foundation too....mine is about $42. Yikes! If I try all of these products and look like you...well, I will be doing pretty good! My church does outreach all the time and it's so nice. They are doing a school supply one now....giving the kids in the
    community all they need to go back to school.

  23. Aw, Cindy! I am sitting here bawling as I read the message from your fire dept./EMS. That is just about the sweetest thing I have heard anyone doing in a long time. Those dear ones are so forgotten and so abused and mistreated by this sick society. I can't believe there are places that won't serve them and call the police pigs and are just despicable to them. To know that you all are doing something so incredibly nice for them just warms my heart. My husband prays so hard for the military, police, firefighters, etc., very often. They sure deserve our prayers and our kindness. God bless them, and God bless you and your group for being so kind.

I wish that we could minister to all but we can’t . But so thankful for what we can do . 26. Great reviews! I'm about ready to head to Walgreen's and Walmart! (I like to buy my cosmetics at Walgreen's because they have a 30-day return policy. I've used it a time or two when a foundation color wasn't quite right. Take it and receipt back and they either refund your money or exchange for another product. You can only exchange one item once so you can't try ever color of something!) I love the way your class blesses your community folks. What an incredible way to share God's love with them.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
