{Happy Resurrection Day}

I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month.  Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now!  Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said!  I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style.  The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters.  Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo

{Monday Musings of My Life}

Happy Birthday to our baby girl...

Our baby girl just celebrated a birthday. My, what happened to that little girl that used to lay her head in my lap and let me run my fingers through her hair for hours?

Now here she is a wife...

And a mom to these two precious girls.
 Adalynn and Annaleigh

Being the baby surely brings extra joy for her because she is spoiled by her sisters.

Her nephew and nieces adore her.

She was my last child and third daughter. I named her after her daddy whose name is Marty and after my great-grandmother whose name was Dolly Lee. I chose to spell it differently so it wound up being Marti Leigh and we call her both names.  Each of my children get to pick what they want for their birthday dinner so her menu of choice was grilled chicken, baked potatoes, Greek salad and green beans and bread. Her birthday dessert was fried donuts and vanilla ice cream. We had a great time celebrating my girl.

We kicked off our first Georgia Bulldog game of the season on Saturday night and needless to say, another reason for us to get together and party! I am sure you know by now my bunch doesn't need a reason though to get together. LOL!

But as much as I love my Georgia Dawgs they aren't nearly as exciting to watch play football than my one and only and FAVORITE grandson.

 This grandgirl plays volleyball and has just started this season. She also plays travel softball. I have several grands that loves sports. I can't play the radio real well so Lord knows they surely didn't get any athletic skills from Nana. LOL!

But I can make a "mean" tuna fish sandwich with a fresh tomato out of my garden. And oh it was so good. My tomatoes are about gone though. I am sure going to miss them.

My oldest granddaughter who is 15 has had a love for baking since she was a little girl. Of course as much as i enjoy cooking and baking I am just thrilled that she enjoys the art of baking. And, the art of baking is simply "love". A friend of my daughter's gave this sweet kitchen aid mixer to my grandgirl and she was beyond excited! My daughter's friend had bought a new one and our Raygen was a happy camper to receive her older one.

And I spotted a buy that I couldn't turn down at our local thrift store that gives the proceeds back to the community and missions.

Don't you just love these beautiful snack plates and cups? A what's best is I got the set of 4 plates with matching cups for $4. YEP!

I ordered some new makeup brushes from Amazon. I found the cutest container at the Dollar Tree to store them in.

 I hope that you have a wonderful Labor Day Holiday and let us keep all covered in prayer with the hurricane situation. Our family has  been praying for the Bahama's and our hearts are broken at the devastation that has already occurred. Where I live we are expected to have heavy rain and winds at this time (which could change at any time) by Wednesday. Power outage is due and we are as prepared as much as possible. Prayers abounding.  Of course, the Bible has warned us of times such as these. May we all stay safe and remember to Trust the One who can calm the sea with just His breath.

 Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  19. Happy Birthday to your beautiful baby girl Marti Leigh. I love her name! What fun to celebrate with family as often as possible. That's what families should do! We are still watching the tail winds of Dorian as he pushes on up the coast. I expect you are getting heavier winds than us about now. Praying you don't lose power. We didn't, and that is such a blessing. Love your white snack plate set...what a bargain! I am struggling to figure out where to put all my "fancy party things" in this house we have just moved into. I am having to downsize and let go and it is a struggle, but I know it is time. I won't be able to have the big parties that we used to have, so will have to cut down our gatherings to smaller groups maybe more often! Right now we just need to get through this storm and then we can think about what's next. Hope you have a blessed week.

    1. Awe thanks Christine. For my regular dining I always do a place setting for 8 and most often never buy anything less than a place setting for 8. But, when shopping at thrift stores that rarely happens. With snack plates, I don't particularly care if they match but most often you can always find some to match to make larger place settings along the way. When I first started collecting snack plates I used them for lots of bridal/baby showers and fun girly parties. On the white ones, that set of 4 was added to some I already had so now I think I have a set of 11 or 12. I'm ADDICTED! LOL! And I don't need them....but who said anything about need huh? Ha! Guess what my three daughters and five granddaughters are inheriting one day?????

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th
