{Happy Resurrection Day}

I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month.  Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now!  Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said!  I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style.  The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters.  Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo

Very true words.
This was a great bible study. I love Max Lucado. Our ladies Bible study class by zoom ended in May and I wanted to do something at my leisure that was short, not in-depth but yet packed a punch. This fit the bill for me. AND....how perfect for such a time as this. {Finding Calm in a Chaotic World} I will finish this study next week the Lord willing.

This was one of my "beach reads".  This short read had three different stories with three different authors. I've read many of Terri Blackstock's books and enjoy her so much but I must admit that I liked the two short stories by Candace Calvert and Susan Warren the best in this book.

 I also read Bridge to Haven by Francine Rivers this summer too. I've been a fan of hers since I read Redeeming Love. This book was so good.  What have you been reading over the summer?

 The Lord opened a door for me to disciple a sweet young woman. (Of course by zoom) Though I get aggravated with technology at times I am truly thankful for it. Especially in the world that we are living in now.  We done 1st John together. We didn't really have a schedule so to speak.  She has a husband and small children to attend too and well, I have a husband and other responsibilities as well so our schedule's changed depending on our situation. It honestly was stress free, low key and a blessing. Have you invested your time in another that's not your family or close friend lately?

While I have many devotional books this one has been my favorite one this summer. EMBRACE by Lysa Terkeurst. You know my word for this year is Embrace so I couldn't pass this devotional up when recommended by a friend.  Speaking of devotional books what are some of your favorites?
What has been your go-to scripture this current season of your life?  Hands down mine has been Joshua 1:9

My latest gem from Hobby Lobby

I'd like to end today by saying
that I, like many of you, have been praying for this brand new school year for our kiddos. And, not just because of COVID but simply because our future generation needs our prayers. I have grandchildren that are home-schooled, going to public school, and attending virtual school.  My oldest granddaughter will begin taking some college classes on Campus in a few weeks while she continues her high school education. It's just hard thinking about her being old enough much less traveling back and forth. I know, it's a Nana thing. But my mercy...why can't they just stay little a little while longer!  As Corrie Ten Boom said, "We can trust an unknown future to a known God".

Let's all be in prayer for our future generation. If we aren't praying for our children...then who is?

And, when your kids have all left to go home after Sunday dinner and one of your grandchildren leaves something for you.......Be still my heart. 💓

I hope that you all have a wonderful week and remember to love others and pray for others every moment you can.💓

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

    You sure have gotten a number of books read this summer. I've been lazy. When my work is done I just sit on the porch and do nothing much at all.

    1. It was nice doing one on one for a change of pace for me and honestly, this was very easy as there was no pressure on schedules as we worked around one another's schedules. I actually had a very simple plan for us and we both stayed tuned in to the plan and it worked out great.

  9. Love those sweet little art works from the grands. They are the best art work ever. How sweet yours is too. I have been doing my daily devotions and I am so happy to have them especially now. I have connected with another blogger that is doing a devotion on her blog from the writings Jesus Calling that I love and have a copy of. So that has been fun to reach out to others on her blog too. There is always happiness and hope in numbers.
    Hugs and Have a great new week.

  10. So many good "reads" here that I don't know where to begin. I admire you for being able to keep up with so many...and also to mentor a young woman in her walk with the Lord is wonderful. Thank you for doing that. You are an inspiration. I feel kind of at loose ends in that department lately, and haven't quite found my "place" in our new community/church, etc., as to what role the Lord wants me to play. So I pray He will give me direction and help me seek His face and will first and not jump ahead like I usually do and then get myself into deeper water than I was prepared for. One day and one step at a time. God knows best. Love the sweet love note from your grand. What a blessing! (((hugs)))

    1. I love to read and it comes easy for me. If I am doing an indepth study though I honestly have no time for extra reading except for short devotionals. Was glad to have the novel reads this summer and especially liked the short study by Max. Girl, I know all about jumping ahead and getting into deep water! I have ran ahead of God more than I care to talk about. Guess it's called being excited to help with Kingdom things but the truth is...we surely aren't called to DO EVERYTHING NOR DO IT ALL. In my older age girl...I am trying to CHOOSE wisely. God will show you your place in your community and your new church Pam. I have no doubt.

  11. Even though I've been staying home for 5 months, I've barely read any books (just didn't have the mental capacity during the early months of the pandemic). But now I'm slowly working my way through "The Night Circus".

    I continue to do "Zoom teas" with my co-workers which they say they appreciate!

  20. I love Max Lucado too.. he just has such a great way of saying important things that matter. How wonderful that you were able to mentor a younger lady through a bible study! You may never know the extended blessing that will have in her life, and through her children too. Bless you for that! Our ladies bible study is starting up again this fall, and I will be one of the teachers. Our theme is "Gates and Doors". We each teach our own material, and pray and ask the Lord for direction to share with the group. I really enjoy this kind of bible study so much. It is fresh bread from the hearts of those who are seeking the Lord. It is always wonderful to study His word with other ladies! What a sweet note your grand left for you... oh such a blessing! Much love to you dear friend :)

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th
