{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

Wednesday In The Word-Service to the Lord

I hear women say a lot of times when asked about serving in various areas of the church or just simply serving at all, "I can't think of anything I am really good at".

The Truth is according to 1 Corinthians 12:7 (MSG) Each person is given something to do that shows who God is.

The Lord gives assignments to people and to each according to one's unique abilities. As the Lord calls us He also equips us.

The Spirit of Christ has given to each christian a special way of serving others.

You may be the behind the scenes type of person and you know what? That's great...God needs behind the scenes people.

You may can bake really well! Praise the Lord! He needs bakers!

 You may can organize well. Well thank you Jesus because a lot of folks have no clue about organizational skills! He needs you!

 Image Credit

You may have the gift of being laid back and going with the flow type of spirit. Well see here, God needs you for people like me that are Hyper!

 Image Credit

You may have a knack for decorating. He needs you!

 Image Credit

You may do well with simply making phone calls to others for outreach purposes. GET ON THE PHONE!

The list can go on and on and on can't it? If we are born again Christians we cannot continue to use the line: NOT BEING ABLE TO SERVE BECAUSE WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING!

That is a lie straight from Satan! Why not keep you from serving? If He can keep you thinking that you have no gifts or talents then he has pretty much won hasn't he? Satan loves to keep us
(SELF-DEPRECATING) Ladies, we need to get over this. Who are we going to believe? Satan or God?

And then there is the opposite! It kind of goes like this: "I can't get involved in that ministry because I wind up doing it all!

Now...let's take the paper off the candy girls and be honest.
And I can do this because I've said it! So I am just being honest and real with you!

WE DON'T HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING! WE ARE NOT GOD'S SOLUTION TO SOCIETY! WE ARE A SOLUTION IN SOCIETY! Read that again real slow!

According to the Word of God our goal is to stay within the boundaries of God's plan for us. Read: 2 Cor. 10:13.
 We need to clarify what our contribution is for the service of the Lord.

So let's quit believing the lies of Satan and ask God this question. "What can I do to serve you? Where, what and how? I promise if you do that with a sincere heart that He will show you.

I love what Jeremiah 33:3 says...one of my favorite scriptures:
"Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things you did not know".! WOW! What a promise!

  1. Wonderful message Cindy, thanks for the reminder that we are ALL called to do God's work. Some of us quietly lighting the shadows and others boldly, leading, teaching and guiding! {{hugs}}

  7. And sometimes He changes our 'assignments' mid-stream! We never know what He will need us to do - and call us to do. He knows us so well and He knows where we can touch others best.

  8. This is great, I never thought of my laid back personality as a gift but your right the laid back person can be a great "leveler" with the more "hyper" personality. God has given us all gifts, we all have them and there is always opportunity to use them

  10. This is such a wonderful post, Cindy! I know we all have gifts to serve our Lord. I used to not be able to say no! I've served so much in church and at this stage of my life, it's like God has put me in a position to rest a bit and get filled up again. I'm loving this!
    Be a sweetie and can't wait to see your corny!

  11. This is a great message, Cindy. I have been at both ends of this and everywhere in between. Honestly right now, I'm not serving as I should be so am claiming the verse in Jerimiah and asking God where he wants me to be. Thanks for the reminder.

  12. AMEN AMEN AMEN!! I actually taught a Sunday School lesson just last week on that topic.

    It is just as wrong to think we have no calling as it is to think the calling is all about us.

    It's not. It's about Him. If he gave us a passion, we can and should use it to the building of the body and the glory of God.

    Wonderful post!

  14. Oh' Cindy a better message couldn't have come to me. I may have come here to visit but it's because you sweetly stopped by and lead me here. Thank you. As the devil tells us these lies, I'm thankful for you doing just what God leads you to do - share with us that He is beside us every step. Why is it that those lies Satin tells us, are so easy to accept and the good things our Father and others tell us is so hard for us to accept. Thanks for visit me. I love you and think of you so much.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
