{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

Wednesday in the Word-Spring in my step.

Spring is in the air....OR SO I HOPE! Living in Florida one never knows what to expect with the weather.....

Have you noticed at how it seems when just a tad of Spring begins to come forth that we all get HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY? We can't help but to get a little Spring in our step. I find myself wanting to plant a few flowers, buy some new ferns, clean off my front porch, re-do a room in the house and just start fresh with a few things. I even had the urge to drag out some flowers and make a new Spring wreath for my front door.

With the help of my granddaughter who will be 3 in May!

 For me, when Spring comes it is a like a breath of fresh air.  It even has put me in the cleaning mode...

Dusted off one of my little birds today and I think I heard him say "Thank You".

Found myself re-arranging my (makeover project from last summer) to a new location.

Then it hit me....Just doing these few things brought a ray of sunshine to me, a Spring to my step, and joy.  I wonder if we are a ray of sunshine to others?

When others leave our presence do they say, "She was like a breath of fresh air to me?

It's so amazing at how our Lord gives us so much joy through the season of Spring time. But what should be more amazing to a lost world and to those saved is the wonderful joy the Lord gives to us as Christians. The strength that joy brings to our lives should make us walk with that spring in our step every day. Because of that joy, we should have a smile on our face and love in our hearts.

"...for the joy of the LORD is your strength. ." Nehemiah 8:10

Happy Spring!

Hugs and Blessings,
Cindy

  1. Hello, Cindy! Yours was my first comment on my post this week, and here I am, first on yours! I know exactly what you mean about spring and having a spring in our walk/joy in our hearts. Always love your posts and your inspiration. And I'd missed the snowboarding cake post--what a riot! I'm sure he loved it!!Yes, I can relate to scouring the house and the town for whatever we need for those precious little ones who all too soon won't be asking for those cakes! You're a good grandmother! I'm sure he knows how much you love him. :) Thanks for visiting and your sweet comments about my purple table! ~Zuni

  4. Oh, yes, milady! Basking in His joy this day - even though the skies are gray. CHOOSING joy is our calling. CHOOSING new life each day keeps us ever in the SPRING of life and living - HOPE for ourselves and every life we touch. The calendar page will turn this weekend to that long awaited first day of spring after a very harsh season of winter here in the northern states. Thing is - I ought to be living spring year round. And - as you say - in His strength spring joy is full year round.
    Blessings!

  5. I love your little birdies!! Spring cleaning is a wonderful thing, and it tends to remind me of the spiritual spring cleaning that I need to tend to, as well. Asking God to search my heart to see if there are any dusty areas that He needs to clean out isn't always fun, but it's always beneficial. Hugs!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
