{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

So, I saw this cute little pumpkin chalkboard at the Dollar Tree a few weeks ago and grabbed it. My hope was that it would put me in the FALLISH mood to start a little decorating for Fall. WELL IT DIDN'T! It's too stinking HOT for me to even begin to think about Fall.

Then I noticed recently that my AC was not working properly. When I had to drag out the fan and threaten to join a nudist colony I knew something was fixing to happen and QUICK! Now I will admit that I can HOT FLASH with the best of you but this had nothing to do with my hot flashes.  Needless to say my AC unit was in need of some freon and I did take care of that quickly.

Nope, I am still not in the FALL mood but I decided to use my pumpkin chalkboard.

 THANK YOU JESUS FOR ALL GOOD THINGS!

 I mean this is what happens around my house on Sunday afternoons after dinner and nobody can be sleeping HOT!

I was going through old picture files and came across this one from last hunting season.

Dang did that ever give me "hunting fever". Yep, as most of you know I am a "huntress". Love going with my man and sitting in a tree stand in the woods. Just something about being out there alone with God and His beautiful creation. And yep, I have my makeup and earrings on! Shoot, I might get me a big old buck and need to have my picture snapped....

Bow Season is fixing to begin in a few weeks and I have already been practicing. Bought myself a new toy too.

A few friends has asked me, "Aren't you afraid to sit alone in those woods?". NO!  I am the one that has the bow and arrow or rifle!

 Now if it starts getting dark then I am ready to go.....I have a huge imagination! LOL!

I am working on a little Bible Study. This particular study is an old one but I've never done it and I do love the Psalms. I read somewhere that the book of Psalms was the most read book in the bible.

So, what have you all been up too lately? Anything fun and exciting?

I hope that you all have a great day and remember, that even on a HOT day there is something to be thankful for!

Like these brownies with dollops of salted caramel.

And then I will be mad the next time I go to the Dr.

I couldn't resist this!

I have seriously got to get back in my Bible Study. Hee-hee.
Hoping you all have a great week.

And the last time I went to the Dr. I told the nurse that I did not come to be weighed and was not paying for it. (LOL)

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  4. You are a stitch and I have had a smile through this whole post! Love your pumpkin! I would not want to be down south without air now! It was 86 here today and I am in the Northeast! Love you in camo too, you huntress you. Yum on those brownies! I made chocolate cherry haystacks today. Haven't tried any yet as they are still setting. That scale sign is hilarious. When I go to the doctor and get weighed I make them mark down 2 pounds less. That is what my clothes weigh (in the winter) and I know because I weigh them before I go!

  12. Hi, Cindy!! I've been MIA but have been busy and enjoying our summer. We went to see our son in Montana and visited Glacier National Park. What an awesome experience! I'm working on a couple of posts. I'm glad you got your AC fixed. It's funny how we take these things for granted until they are gone! J wants to go back to see Andy in about a month to go elk hunting. (That's all they chat about!). You can bet I'll be going, too, but not hunting. I'll stay at his house and do some reading and work on a project or two for some of the groups I'm in. These are filling my time lately but I love volunteering! Our group's Bible study begins in about a month and I'm really looking forward to sharing the Word with our friend! Have a wonderful week!!

She has been known to carry her sewing machine with her. What Bible study are you doing? Nothing like sharing the Word with friends. Have a good day.

    1. Linda, I am so thankful that it was ONLY freon that was needed! My ac unit is old but actually was one of the best made ones in the day. AC guy told me that the new ones do not hold up nearly to what the older units do these days. YES, it's too hot to not have AC and I can remember growing up and at times we didn't have any. I just don't think it was as hot back then! LOL!

I absolute loved the pic of you with you cammo hat on with the make-up and earrings...oh how precious! 19. Cindy I know all about those brownies. My daughter has learned how to make the yummiest cinnamon rolls. I had not tasted any decent ones for 20 years, we used to go to Macy's of all places to get some. And now that she is making them and very well, I can't stop eating them. I had to laugh when I saw the statue that is your enemy. Stay well my friend.

  22. My ex always tried to get me to go hunting, I am not that type of girl!! But, I love it that some like you and my niece are! My 30 yr old niece has been hunting for yrs and her hubby taught her how to field dress while they were at it. I think that rocks! As for fall...I have talked to so many that are so ready for fall yet it has not been a bad summer. I have been ready for weeks. I love your pumpkin! That is too cute.

  23. You are a woman of many colours Cindy! I know you like to hunt, but seeing you in the woods there with the makeup and jewels and camo ... wow! I'm afraid the only thing I could ever shoot are photos, but I love the woods just as much as you do :)
    Glad your a/c got back into shape. Our fall weather is creeping in at nighttime and it's taking longer in the morning to warm up again. Oh no!! There are a few leaves changing too (some in my own yard). I'm not ready for fall yet, and never am until the kids go back to school.

  24. Hi Cindy, I know what you mean when you say hot. We will be at 110 next week as a heat wave is coming in this weekend. We had our AC serviced last year but we only go as low as 76. I usually start decorating for fall after Labor Day. I did pick up a few cute things at Hobby Lobby to add to my already big stash! I have never even shot a gun, but it is on my bucket list. Don't think I could kill an animal other than crickets! Have you shot a deer? How do you cook it? Just curious. Have a nice weekend!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
