Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
Isn't this Coleus just beautiful? I have about 4 of these pretties that I started out in just one pot and the next thing I knew I was replanting in different pots.
We had a girls day out this past Friday and I enjoyed our outing so much. Cracker Barrel was first on the list and then shopping.
Nothing like a girls day with your girls. Sure does refresh the soul doesn't it?
I have had this little sign for a few years now and found it at Tractor Supply. I just love it but let me tell y'all something...you can find all kinds of goodies at Tractor Supply. I went in recently to look for some seeds and well, let's just say I came out with more than I went in for!
Now for Pinterest Favs and these Yummy Chewy Brown Sugar Cookies are first on the list!
The recipe made a large batch so needless to say family and friends were gifted cookies!
Next time I make these I think I will freeze several batches for the holidays.

I've made quite a few recipes in my Instapot and I have enjoyed using mine. I know most people really like to use their instapot when they are pushed for time but I find that I use mine more actually when I have extra free time and not rushing. This recipe is another tried and true for us.
This is the cutest little Farmhouse craft to do. I have everything I need but now just taking the time to make it is another thing.

Another pinterest find. Of course I just so happen to have antlers too! Lots of them! Now just talking my man into letting me use some of his antlers hanging in the barn might be an issue.
And for my tea party loving friends isn't this such a great way to share ice cream and cookies? Pretty tea cup and yummy treats!
Y'all it's so hot and humid in my neck of the woods right now that I can't hardly think about a Hot Cocoa Bar but.........I am so in love with this!
I am always looking for little DIY gift ideas and I thought this would be adorable and usable for a group of ladies. My Bible Study ladies come to mind but then what a great idea for teachers, nurses and etc.
(over at tablefortwoblog)
I love cute little cupcake liners and this is the best way to keep them all together.
And...No pun intended here on this gift idea but in the current situation we are in...well, not a bad gift idea.
AMEN
I enjoy browsing on Pinterest. Mercy me I have tons of boards saved and will pin to them and yet never make, bake, or create half of what I save. But, oh I do enjoy the inspiration from others.
I hope that you all have a wonderful and safe week and remember, try to inspire someone this week. Inspiration comes in many different ways......
Hugs and blessings, Cindy
I love all the pretty girls in your photos! Those smiles make ME smile too! And what great ideas. I need to get on Pinterest and look around. I haven't done that in awhile! Enjoy your week. Stay cool...keep those fans flying! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Diane. Keeping that AC running for sure. I am about ready for cooler weather now!
DeleteI love Pinterest too! So many cool things. I will have to try that cookie recipe in the fall. To hot to have the oven on. We will be at 100+ this week and we even have some humidity from a tropical baja storm. I love that cocoa bar and it is giving me ideas for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteLove your pics of the girls. Enjoy your week!
Oh girl...100 +...Lordy! Yes, that cocoa bar is perfect and my kind of style.
DeleteI just love all these Pinterest ideas, smiles. Its hot and humid here too, smiles. Thanks for sharing your photos and love love the grandgirls.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. Stay cool.
DeleteA few years ago, I attended a presentation by a woman who was in charge of Pinterest in Canada. The only thing I remember about the talk is how the aim of Pinterest is to be aspirational and to be a social media (SM) platform that makes people feel good (unlike the toxicity in other SM platforms).
ReplyDeleteI'm salivating over the yummy cookies! I've also served ice cream in teacups, although my presentation isn't as pretty. HA!
Love the Chapstick gift idea--a punny and functional present! I'm ahead of the curve when it comes to giving hand soap as gifts. Pre-pandemic, I gave out BBW hand soap at party favours at showers and birthday parties.
Wish every form of SM made us feel good don't you? The cookies are really good. I too love the chapstick idea for a cute little gift. Easy peasy.
DeleteI have that exact Coleus and it's doing about the same as yours!! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love the ice cream and cookie in a teacup idea. You know I have many saucerless teacups I can use. I like Pinterest and find that I go looking and an hour later I'm STIll looking, admiring, planning... Keep cool if you can, GM
I have really enjoyed my Coleus. Yes, I could spend hours on Pinterest.
DeleteOh, you know I'm a cookie baking machine and I will be making these one day this week. I always bake a bunch and freeze the biggest part of them and love having the extra stash to share. Love all your pintrest finds too. Always brings a smile when I stop by.

DeleteI know you make lots of cookies too. I normally take a day during to bake holiday goodies for gifts and a day to bake and freeze edibles for the holidays. But, as slow as I seem to be at getting things done these days I might need to take a week. LOL!
DeleteCindy, the grandgirls are so cute and so is their Nana. I can get lost for too many hours looking through Pinterest. There are so many recipes and good ideas, thanks for sharing. Wishing you a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam. Those grands are the best thing aren't they?
DeleteI love those days with the grand girls too. Makes life great. Gotta love Pinterest too. Such cute ideas everywhere on Pinterest. All your recipes look yummy as always. Happy New Week my friend. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful week too Kris. I am sure you are doing a makeover of some kind that will be turn into beauty. LOL!
DeletePamela M. Steiner has left a new comment on your post "{Pinterest Favs and My Simple Life}":
ReplyDeletePamela M. Steiner....I am so SORRY! I deleted this comment by accident but it was still on my email but would not post! But thank you so much for your sweet words! My fingers on my phone hit the wrong button! Mercy!
And YOU have inspired me! Thank you for reminding me that Pinterest has so many cute ideas. I also have pinned many that I will never use, but I love to go "window shopping" through there ever so often. Also, love the Christmas ideas. I guess it is coming. I hope they won't cancel it too!!! (Can't cancel Christmas...Jesus came, and we need to celebrate...and He is coming again, and we need to be ready!) Have a blessed week. Love your little girls. You have so much fun. You are greatly blessed!
I love pinterest and spend way too much time looking at all the great things. I keep my cupcake liners in a mason jar, they look great sitting on the counter. Hope you and your family are staying well. I sure with C19 would go away. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteWe are doing good Miss Mary. Hope you and Mr. D are hanging in there with this MESS!
DeleteCraft after craft of fun ideas!
ReplyDeleteI'm snagging the DIY Gift Ideas!
Snag away Christine cause I surely did! LOL!
DeleteSuch a cheery post, Cindy! I am reminded of the line in Beauty and the Beast, "I use antlers in all of my decorating...." (Gaston singing).
ReplyDeleteThanks for such enjoyable reading and plenty of eye candy!
LOL! Yes Gaston did sing that line didn't he? Funny!
DeleteWhat a creative post dear Cindy! Thanks for the inspiration. That peach ice cream in the tea cup is calling my name! I also love the jar with the muffin liners. I need to do that!
ReplyDeleteI see you did the side by side pictures with the new blogger format. I also need to try that.
Your grands are adorable and you are very blessed to have them close by.
Have a great week.
I am sure about the time I get used to the new format Bonnie that blogger will change it. LOL! Yes, we are very blessed to have our kids and grands close by. Pinterest makes me smile! LOL!
DeleteLots of great ideas Cindy! I love Pinterest! I save my Pinterest visits as a reward later in the day if I've been a good girl and have gotten all my must dos done 😂
ReplyDeleteJenna
LOL Jenna. Well, you best be a good girl so you can browse!
DeleteI love Pinterest, too! It is so much fun to look at other people's ideas! I love primitive decor, so I find lots of inspiration on there for that. So nice to visit with you today, sweet friend. :)

Oh all kinds of fun and whimsy here today, friend! LOVING that jar filled to the brim with those colorful paper muffin cups!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!
Isn't it the cutest jar with muffin cups? Love it too.
DeleteLooks like a wonderful girls day out. I taught a girls day out paint party yesterday to get moms out of the house and away from the kids for a bit. It was fun. Honey, I thought I loved to bake but you have me beat. I am right now at this point cutting myself off from baking for a bit. I am doing it and then to get it out of the house I have giving it away. Folks are about tired of me dropping sweets for them to eat!!! haha....Although I have been paid to make a cake today for a bday party....reminds me, need to get up and get that going. Later.
ReplyDeletePainting party sounds fun! I baked another cake this weekend but it was sorta semi homemade! LOL!
DeleteWhat a wonderful girls day out.

All the best Jan
