{It's A New Beginning Y'all}

  It's a tad late to wish a  Happy New Year but I sure hope that it's kicked off good for everyone. Ours kicked off with being so THANKFUL for what God has done and is doing. As I told my family as we were reminiscing over 2024, "There is a lot of 2024 I DO NOT WANT A RE-DO but the Lord has surely taught me so very much. I am truly thankful for each breath, each day, family and close friends. We had our three youngest grands for New Years Eve. We had a great time and the girls enjoyed a little fishing, bonfire with their great-grandfather and roasting marshmallows. Their great-grandfather will be 90 years old next month. As most of you know I do a monthly focus board and this makes my 3rd or 4th year. I've lost count. Only fitting that New Beginnings would be my focus for January. This has been so good for me as it sits on my kitchen counter so I can see it daily. Wonderful way to focus and quote God's Word daily.  I felt up to hosting a lunch and movie day with ...

{Thankful For His Many Wonderful Deeds}

Puerto Rico   I hope that you have had a lovely weekend and day today. Our family enjoyed worshipping together this morning and then enjoyed another wonderful Sunday dinner with lots of chit-chatting. Y'all, I surely do not take it for granite that we are blessed to be able to have our children and grandchildren nearby and that we can have Sunday dinner together. The Lord is surely good to me. We enjoyed hearing all about our granddaughter Raygen's mission trip to Puerto Rico and loved looking at the many pictures she took. She said that she was so glad that she went and would go on another mission trip but she was glad to come home. There's no place like home.  She learned how to seal a roof along with many other things. She said she didn't know a thing about sealing a roof but now she does! LOL! Thank you to all that prayed for her. I do appreciate it.    My "favorite" grandson was super excited needless to say when Papa gave him an old shot gun that he has ...

{Counting My Many Blessings In Life}

  I hope that you all are having a wonderful Sunday afternoon. We sure have done some celebrating today for Father's Day and for my SIL (Jered's) birthday. We had dinner, swimming, a lots of talking after church at my oldest daughter's home today and it was a wonderful day. Our menu was: Fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, green beans, rolls, apple pie, pecan pie and vanilla ice cream along with some good ole southern sweet tea! Now that's a Father's day meal don't ya think? I am still being blessed with more squash and tomatoes . I surely see a squash casserole in the makings about next Sunday. The tomatoes...I eat one every day and will as long I my harvest is coming in. Nothing like fresh veggies. Our oldest granddaughter Raygen left yesterday morning around 1 am for her first mission trip . She was in the bed by 7 pm last night. Please keep their group in your prayers. Safety, lives changed for our Lord and for a great work of God to be done inside and out...

{Sweet Summertime}

  Sweet summertime brings me a fresh tomato sandwich straight from my little garden. Lordy mercy, I do love me a mater sandwich. I grow my tomatoes in buckets and I only planted 6 plants this year and one did not yield a thing. But, so far, the other five is surely bringing me some yummy to my tummy.  Speaking of sweet summertime...oh this watermelon was my 2nd one for the summer as of today. So, so sweet and of course these girls make that melon even sweeter.  Our sweet Kyleigh wanted to have a little purple in her hair for our July beach trip so she now has purple hair. Yes, she is going to be my grand that might just want a different color hair every season. LOL! It will wash out in about 6 weeks but she sure loves it. I told her to hold on cause Nana was getting a little purple, blue or pink streaks in my hair for the beach trip. She is so excited and of course told me exactly where to streak it at!  But.....mine will be chalk paint that washes out over night....

{Happenings Around Conner's Pond}

  Hope your June has kicked off with great and wonderful things for you all. My Gardenia's has surely been in full swing and I picked a bouquet from my bush to add a tad more sweetness to the house. The sad part about gardenia's is that they don't last long but...the sweet smell lingers.  A much needed shower of rain gave life to my squash. Actually fried a batch last night. Marty loves squash about any way you fix it. Me? Squash casserole is my fav. How about you? Do you say yay or nay to fresh squash?  We only got about an inch of rain but it sure always makes my pond and veggies look good! And my Asparagus ferns. Which I have everywhere! Easiest thing to grow so I keep them around. LOL!  Had this grandgirl for an overnight at Nana and Papa's. We done a little shopping, fried some deer meat up, ate brownie bombs, done a facial, colored, watched movies and of course I had to buy her the Elsa music jewelry box while out shopping.  And...Nana spotted a new b...
