{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{Happy Sunday Everyone}

 Well, today is the last day of July and I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that that the past seven months has seemed to fly by. WHEW....I may be getting slower by time sure isn't! Isn't this array of succulents just pretty? I've had this for a long time now. I helped to host a baby shower and was gifted this as a thank you. Each hostess was given just one small plant in a container. I honestly never expected it to live. It has more than thrived. I have propagated these succulents many times with the babies that would fall off and as you can see they are thriving in their now larger container. I have a few more in a smaller container that is growing.  Decided to make my famous carrot cake for Sunday dinner. Well, it's famous with my family. This is usually my go too cake or a fresh Apple pound cake when making something sweet for raffles, fund raisers or special occasions. Today wasn't a special occasion except to simply celebrate family at the C...

{Enjoying the moments}

  Here it is Sunday afternoon again and do you know what I was thinking? In five short months we will be celebrating Christmas! That really hit me today. Of course I watched a movie over the weekend about Christmas in July and it gave me that itching of decorating for Christmas. Well, until I walked outside and felt the heat and humidity that is! Anyways....Christmas will be here before we know it. AND...I may get an early start at Christmas decor. Or, I am going to have to cut back this year as it seems to take me forever to get anything done! LOL! I truly do love all things Christmas though. What is your favorite holiday? The travel ball grand and her family spent the week in Myrtle Beach for ballgames and added in some vacation time.  The youngest sister had fun simply being a mermaid.  Needless to say she found her happy place while there. That kid loves her some ice cream and candy.  This little one found my battery operated facial cleanser and had the biggest t...

{This and That}

 Good Sunday Afternoon to all. I hope that you are all enjoying your summer. It's sure been a hot and humid summer. Not sure if it's because I am getting older or what but I sure can't do this heat like I used too.  Web image Thought this about the GPS was too funny!  Marty and I enjoyed watching our grandgirl Mallory play softball this weekend. She plays on a travel ball team and most often the distance is just too far for us to go to only a few games. However, this game was only an hour and a half from us so we had the opportunity to go. We love watching her play. It's always fun to see the grands doing what they love. We had a up close visit with this cutie this past week. We had a day date and stopped to grab lunch and we ate outside. This guy shows up and made his rounds to the different tables in hopes someone would drop him a few crumbs. Of course I did! Mallory and I got new yoga shirts. I'm really going to miss having her tag along with me to class when sch...

{What A Great Week}

Hope you all are doing well on this Sunday afternoon. It's hot and humid in my neck of the woods but we had a tad of a shower earlier that brought the temps down a few degrees. We need rain so bad. Seems like everyone around us is getting a nice shower but us! Oh, I guess we are never happy though. Rain, don't rain, come on cooler weather, please warm up some . Mercy! Us humans! LOL! We've had a busy week but lots of fun too.  We enjoyed some good old grilled ribs that Marty prepared for us and the meat just fell off the bone. He is for sure the master griller at our house. I mix a rub together made out of everything you can image and rub our ribs down and let them sit in the frig. for 24 hours. We cover them with foil and cook on low temp on gas grill for 30 minutes and then flip them over to the other side for another 30 minutes. Then we flip once more and cook for 3 hours. Mercy...no sauce is needed they are so good.  My middle daughter's birthday was yesterday but a...

{Beaching with the Girls}

Good Sunday afternoon everyone. I hope that you all are having a wonderful Sunday and that tomorrow, July 4th, that you enjoy your red, white and blues. I just returned from from a short getaway to Fernandina Beach with my three daughters and we had such a wonderful time. We had one shower of rain but needless to say, I was a drowned rat! But oh did it ever feel so good and I simply just give praise for the much needed rain and time away with the girls. I for sure got the biggest soaking but then I can't move as fast as my girls! LOL!  Web image We had a lovely meal at the Boathouse one evening. We had about an hour wait so we walked around the historic district for a bit and oh my! I found the cutest little Christmas ornament shop. I can't believe I did not take any pictures. Especially when I LOVE ALL THINGS CHRISTMAS.  There is nothing like the sound of the ocean and the clean salt air to me.  We had brunch one morning at Sliders and one can never go wrong with Grits a...
