{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

{Happy Monday Y'all}

 My usual Sunday post surely didn't happen this week. Lesson for me is: Sometimes, STUFF just happens....LOL!

We've been trying to catch up on projects around our home and as most know my porch has been one of them. We added a welcome sign that would you believe I found under a bed in the guest room (AKA as the Buck Room) It's not exactly what I want but works for now for us. It is a pretty sign though.

Marty and I enjoyed yet another day date. This time though it was on a Saturday as he is not retired yet. We found a cute little Cuban bistro that was quaint and enjoyed a good lunch. A little shopping was on the agenda.

We came home and hung those lovely ferns that Marty so faithfully tends too. Thank the Lord cause I can't even reach them to water them without my step ladder!

We sealed the swing my FIL made and actually sat out on the front porch to enjoy the new ceiling fans. Now to take the stickers off the fern pots! LOL!

Despite the fickle weather we feel we've had our potatoes are coming up beautifully. We planted ten short rows and every single hill of potatoes is coming up. YUM!

And...on my way to join others at my yoga class I enjoyed a fresh fruit drink that I whipped up. Blueberries, strawberries, orange, lemon, kiwi, apple, and pineapple flavored aloe Vera juice. I even had enough to save Marty a smaller cup to enjoy.

I will close with sharing yet another wonderful devotional, powerful and a truly an AMEN one for me. I hope that you all have a wonderful week and remember...If you are still drawing a breath...God surely isn't through with you. 💖

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. Hi Cindy, I just love your porch! You must live on a few acres of property. I live in the city and everything is close to each other. I am a country girl in heart living in the city. So I look to all the positive things and thank God for that! Funny how busy we are and being retired makes no difference! Your fruit drink looks so yummy! Enjoy your week!

    A few years ago, I got my small backyard deck rebuilt and the contractors left the (price?) stickers on the wood.LOL.

    1. Yes Kitty. We had a good laugh about the welcome sign. I might need to start cleaning out other places in the house. Maybe I will find some cash I hid from myself!

    1. Thanks GM. Marty loves those ferns but I was told today about another fern that is easier to care for but can get quite massive. I am going to check on those for next year to maybe put some out by my pond.

  8. I just love your porch swing and your ferns and your porch in general...and that welcome sign is beautiful! Looks like such a welcoming place to sit and enjoy the coolness of the morning before the sun gets too hot for the day...and how nice to have those fans too! I am trying to find more time to sit on our porch, but it has to be in the mornings or late evenings because the afternoon sun makes it too hot to sit out there. But you have inspired me to get it cleaned up and try to make myself get out there and enjoy it more! Have a blessed and wonderful week.

    1. It's a job to keep it clean for sure. But, I have decided not to kill myself trying to keep it cleaned. I do what I can and what I can't at the moment I don't. Amazing how getting a little older put life chores in different perspectives. LOL!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
